Wellfan1984
The problem with Hammell, is not himself per say, but look at ICT's first goal, where was our left midfielder? If Hammell is beaten, which tbf, even the greatest left backs are beaten at times, the left midfielder should be there to cover, and if not the left sided centre back. Hammell has never had, defensively (Pearson, Foran and now whoever McGhee decides) a left sided midfielder he could trust. I agree his postional sense is not what it could be, every player has something they can work on, but I think teams try our left not because of Hammell (we still conceded a fair whack with Patterson at left back) but our whole left side. Yes, there is something in that. That has been true for quite some time now. Its also true of our right flank where Paul Quinn has been left exposed just too often. Its an inherent weakness in our side.
