Rickoza
It's weird to see the pitch disappear so shortly after the game! Would love to be able to tell all the knockers over the past while that we have the best pitch in the country once it's done. Sure it will be, great update and looking forward to more! East_Stand_Al
Pitch work is by the same firm who did ICTs pitch and Murray Park ,Pittodrie Murrayfield and Hampden so should be a good job done.
Wellfan1984
This year or last? As Pittodrie, Murrayfield and Hampden have been a joke this season...
Yir Elder
No excuses if we have pitch problems next season. All we need now is a decent team to play on it.

Rickoza
Loving the updates, following it intently each day! Should get a power of work done in the next few days with the forecast being so good. Looks set for a topper of a day tomorrow incidentally!
BobWilson (Anchorman)
Again, superb updates. And if there's any that wavy-coil drainage stuff left when all's done, I'd be delighted tae take it off the clubs hands. For free. And a hope our marketing people are charging for the blatant advertising in them foties. Pished. Good night.
bigg_1982
Just a question, as im confused, in the photos showing the new drainage channels dugs across the pitch there appears to be no sign of the existing undersoil heating pipes, have they been removed before this and the new ones will go in? Or does the "existing" system not cover the full pitch? Not having a go, just curious. Excellent work on the updates, really enjoying it. Guest 'Flow
Just a question, as im confused, in the photos showing the new drainage channels dugs across the pitch there appears to be no sign of the existing undersoil heating pipes, have they been removed before this and the new ones will go in? Or does the "existing" system not cover the full pitch? Not having a go, just curious. They do, the machine (whiz wheel) they use to cut the new drain cuts through them like a hot knife through butter. There are several pictures where you can see them at both ends of the freshly cut "trench" If you look at the very base of the freshly cut trench (along the side walls), you can see what is left of them, every few inches, after having been cut through all the way up! bigg_1982
Thanks 'Flow, I wasnt looking hard enough. The whiz wheel seems to be an impressive piece of kit! One other question what depth below the pitch do the new undersoil heating pipes on in? Always wondered this. Thanks again for the updates! Guest 'Flow
About 10 inches is the recommended depth for the USH pipes. The picture earlier gives a slightly false impression because we've removed a fair bit of soil / pitch from the top. On the other hand, we've found areas of the park where the pipes have been wayyy below what they should've been. But that will all be rectified when the new ones get installed at some point late next week! We're now a good day or so ahead of schedule and the weather has been a God send! Another update from Ian will be on around dinner time! 'Flow
Steve Diggle
I take it the cut sections of the old USH pipes will just lie dormant under the park then Flow? Also I take it there needs to be a quick re-levelling exercise whent the drains are covered?
rightdodgyman
On Sky Sports News this morning the guy said that undersoil heating was being put in at St Andrews for Birmingham going back into the premier. He said 18 miles worth of pipes. Surely no??
mon_da_well
Fuck sake, 18 miles?! THe updates the official site have been pretty good, gives a really simple summery of what's happening.
