steelman1991
Just a quick heads up that both the U13's and U15's MFC Girls team will compete this Sunday in the finals of their respective age groups. As far as I know the games will take place at the Toryglen Regional Football Centre, Prospecthill Road, Glasgow - adjacent to Hampden Park. Kick Off's are:- Under 13's 12.00 p.m. Under 15's 1.30 p.m. Get along and support the girls in their attempt to capture the first piece of silverware this season. Information correct at the time of press - but no doubt Angie will correct any glaring ommissions. C'mon the well girls - Good Luck and give 'em hell Amy!!!!!!!!! Angie 1991
Info is correct Derek, the Finals will be held in Toryglen Indoor Arena on new 4g surface. This is a seated arena holding approx 700.Would be good to see some "Well fans cheering the girls on. First opportunity to show off your new Motherwell top and cheer on the girls at the same time.13s,unbeaten so far this season play Kilwinning who are also unbeaten.15s will take on Hibs in what should be a cracker as both teams are also unbeaten in League and Cup competition. Angie 1991
No joy this time for Mfc Girls. The u13s were beaten 3-2 by a very good Kilwinning team,Kilwinning scoring the winner in the last minute of normal time,a devastating blow to the young Motherwell team, and it got worse when Hibs defeated the 15s 6-0.The 15s have a small squad which was depleted further by injuries and Hibs were far too strong for them on the day.Well done to both teams in reaching the final and hopefully we can go one step further next year. The girls will now have a break before they resume their league games in August. steelman1991
Well done - you've so much to be proud of girls, as have the club -it was a brilliant effort, that just fell short. Nothing to be dispirited about though, Kilwinning were, as Angie said, a very good team, all over the park, but the standouts were the 3 smallest girls on the park for Kilwinning - a handful for any defence. A good learning experience for both sets of players - 13's and 15's (and no doubt coaches) and I'm sure they will put that to good use in the rest of season. Good to see so many there in Claret and Amber - what a great set-up they have at Toryglen. Well done again all involved.
trafficlight
They both reached the final and can be proud of themselves. Both teams enjoyed a fantastic season - unbeaten until the final - and must have some very good players. I'm sure they'll return even more determined next season.
