black sabbath
Is this the Beach Cafe in Llanelli Beach or Cefn Sidan Sands? Apologies, I'm really not sure about whether you can get a beer by the beach here. The hotel reception or a taxi driver will be better informed - sorry! Dont

Stuarty
Do the Welsh take Scottish notes, or do we all need to get English notes to pay for things?

They can actually be a bit funny about this. best way is to travel with as few Scottish notes as you will use, then use a cash point over the border/s
Llanelli_FC
there isn't any beer served in the beach cafe, as said before close to the beach for a drink would be The Sandpiper or the bucket and spade, options for breakfasts i'd say coffee pot or willow cafe which are close to the train station

cambo97
Because they're not legal tender, just Promissory notes issued by the bank.
Juan Kerse
Is it quicker to go all the way down the M5 and then over the Severn Bridge or Quicker taking the M5 then M50 down through Wales to Cardiff then re-join the M4? Â Cheers anyone! Â Â Â Definately Buzzing like a broken fridge now!!! Â Â Â 9 hours 20 minutes 'till I Leave!!!! Â
Juan Kerse
Because they're not legal tender, just Promissory notes issued by the bank. Â Â Neither is a BOE note 'legal tender' though. No note is, they are all just a promise.
cambo97
They are in England and Wales, though not in Scotland. In effect we could refuse to take them just as they do to ours.
Andy_P
Is it quicker to go all the way down the M5 and then over the Severn Bridge or Quicker taking the M5 then M50 down through Wales to Cardiff then re-join the M4? Cheers anyone!  The Brazilian has been looking at both options for our trip down. Sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong but I think he said timewise it was much the same but going down through Wales rather than heading to Birmingham and across was something like 180 miles less.  So cheaper petrol wise if not quicker.  Here if you're going down first you can let us know! Bloke from Llanelli
Is it quicker to go all the way down the M5 and then over the Severn Bridge or Quicker taking the M5 then M50 down through Wales to Cardiff then re-join the M4? Cheers anyone!    Definately Buzzing like a broken fridge now!!!    9 hours 20 minutes 'till I Leave!!!!   Definitely tale the M50, A49 etc and you rejoin the M4 by the Celtic Manor - the Ryder Cup venue.  This route also saves you the Severn Bridge toll. Bloke from Llanelli
No problen with Scottish notes. You might get a few blank stares, but if anyone gives you a problem ask to speak to the manager and they'll soon get the message. Â And no-one venture down through North, Mid Wales etc. Probably the most frustrating drive known to man.
brisbaneMFC
If there is ever any dispute about whether your tender is in fact legal, don't get bogged down in an argument. Just stroll out the shop with the goods.
Deaddogman
WHY?!?! Â Â I believe it's because they don't have their own notes and they are miffed because their emblems are used on UK coins ........... not sure tho' maybe the good lady who told me was pulling my leg but certainly in Aberystwyth I had a few funny looks while trying to spend my tenner in the chip shop, but i just started to eat the chips whilst they argued with me :D
