Albania TA
Albanian footballers have a track record of disappearing when visiting the United Kingdom to play football matches. It's happened at least once when England played Albania in a qualifier (can't remember if it was Euros or World Cup) when quite a few of the team absconded. And if I remember correctly there were a few other instances. Obviously the Government mandarins haven't forgotten. Rudi Vata did so in France 'In March 1991, Rudi Vata sought political asylum from the harsh communist regime which then governed Albania. Feigning injury during a France v Albania friendly at Parc des Princes, he walked up the tunnel, and kept walking into a French police station, where he claimed and was granted asylum from the oppressive circumstances in his homeland. Six of his international team-mates did the same.'

The very same Rudi "Come to Albania" Vata that was mumping his gums about Motherwell affronting his nation too

Yeah - i know mate. And to be fair I've seen him a few times promoting his homeland so that's fair enough.
