that hat
Now that we're into Spring can the sand be removed from the Fir Park pitch or is it to remain a sandpit until the end of the season?
Gaag
interesting to note though, that, despite our having "the worst, most disgraceful, disgusting" pitch in Scotland, we've still played more games than anyone else in the SPL this season? Deaddogman
Now that we're into Spring can the sand be removed from the Fir Park pitch or is it to remain a sandpit until the end of the season? I was told at the game that we were re-seeding as we won't be back on the the pitch for at least three weeks
that hat
I was told at the game... So you made it across, excellent.
Brazilian
Anybody been in or around Fir Park care to give us any hope of seeing some green stuff on Saturday
fatcalf
If they've scraped enough sand off it we might see some green shoots in this milder weather lately.
Onthefringes
Covers of the germination type (I'd expect) were down on Saturday morning when I was there...
Pepper
With two days of snow forecast I wouldn't hold out for much improvement!

Rickoza
Thing is, it's unlikely to drop much below freezing. Wednesday night might see a light frost, but nothing serious.

nethertonwellfan
It looks good but the real test will be when the first slide tackle goes. Will it start cutting up badly or will it play like a normal pitch ? Let's hope it's the latter.
Albie
It looks good but the real test will be when the first slide tackle goes. Will it start cutting up badly or will it play like a normal pitch ? Let's hope it's the latter. Unfortunately it was the former. The pitch was an absolute disgrace and in my opinion went against us yesterday. Our players had no confidence in running with the ball on it. Compared to St Mirrens pitch, which came under a bit of criticism lately and now looks fantastic, ours is a joke.
Rickoza
I couldn't believe the amount of sand which is now in it, that'll need to be completely ripped up again in May I'd imagine and a new pitch from seed all over again.
mjw
Did the ground staff run out of gardening tools and just decide to send a guy out to repair divots with his rockports in front of the east stand at h/t
Al B
Whats with the big burnt perfect circle on the edge of the Cooper-end 6-yard box??
Onthefringes
Whats with the big burnt perfect circle on the edge of the Cooper-end 6-yard box?? Al, it's called carelesness For me, the pitch played worse than it had previously. Clear for all to see, pitch has had some recovery time recently and shown little signs of regrowth and again poorly maintained. Why?
mjw
Whats with the big burnt perfect circle on the edge of the Cooper-end 6-yard box?? crop circles at fir park?we shoud keep that excuse in case we get investigated again
Optimus Prime
For me, the pitch played worse than it had previously. Clear for all to see, pitch has had some recovery time recently and shown little signs of regrowth and again poorly maintained. Why? Pitch will not improve much until growing season begins in earnest maybe next month. Best course of action is to resed most of it as soon as possible after last game. There is no short term solution. Growing medium should be ok - just reseed.

Meaning if we get into Europe gain it could be back to Airdrie in the summer.

Would that be the sandy looking stuff that gets stomped down with size 11 rigger boots. Maybe that's what's wrong, the grassy side is upside down
