DC'd
Wonder if Scholes will be playing as he doesn't get much of a look in at england selections. Aye, 'cos he retired about 8yrs ago..
brazilmfc
Would love to see a few decent players. Scholes has retired from international, as has Neville and Giggs. I doubt they will play but I would pay money to see Giggs or Scholes play, 2 of the best players of our Generation. I don't think Macheda gets much of an international game yet so he might be a shout. I know they played a Man U 11 earlier in the season against a non league side and it was all youngsters, but as this game is a "little" more high profile I suppose they might have one or two decent players in the squad. I think Solskjaer managed the Man U 11 earlier in the season and came on for the last ten, so he might make an appearance.
mwellhighland
I would bet 99% of people on this forum would name Tommy McLean long before they thought about Hunter. Bolllocks.....I'll take that bet So is there no pay at the gate? I'm staying over in Glasgow after Scotland match n could maybe persuade a few mates to go alone.....obviously can't if all ticket though

garymurdoch
An indication as to what players are coming up for the game would be interesting. Young talent with a few star names would be nice.

Yir Elder
It's all ticket?! Surely not?! I called the ticket office today and was told you'd be able to pay at the gate on Sunday. Apparently just under 1000 tickets have been sold so far, so the option to pay in should see a better crowd, especially now Man U themselves have announced it. Supposedly there will be more than just reserves up too, but don't know any more than that. However anyone going along to the game may well see a few United legends strutting their stuff on Fir Park. Special aka
The match isn't about Motherwell FC or Manchester United FC. It is about the whole new initiative that Lanarkshire (North and South) are starting up in the name of Sir Matt Busby. OK, what the fekk did Matt Busby ever do for Lanarkshire ? (North and/or South), as it is unfortunately now known.

It depends what crowd they want. Send up a team of total unknowns and get 2000 if you are lucky. Send up Giggs, Scholes and Neville and get a crowd of 5000+. If those 3 are playing I would go along even with a hangover from the Scotland game.............they best be announcing it soon....you know it is called marketing!!! About as much as David Livingstone, but we're happy to celebrate the fact that he came from our county. And Sheena Easton
ONeils40yarder
what time is the kick-off? To be honest I can't believe the negativity that is surrounding this game, regardless of what it is for, or what Man United players (household names or not) will be there, how often will we see players of that ability at Fir Park? Had a quick look on the online booking page, and it seems to me that the Main Stand and Cooper stand are sold out? Either that or they aren't open. Or am I reading it wrong? Kim
Got my tickets for the game this morning. I'm quite looking forward to it. Are the Scotland u19s playing this weekend or do we have them available to play for us? Kick off is 3pm.
McGooJnr87
I'm going along cos its a chance to say youve seen motherwell play Man Utd even if it is just the youth team - you might see the next rooney, ronaldo etc. I do think they could have made it a bit cheaper as it is a council run initiative. Tassinari
Surely if some of the 1st team were playing it should be advertised to the hilt to maximise the revenue generated by this for the trust?? The fact that its advertised as Reserves and no mention of any others leaves me a bit sceptical as to whether others may turn out.
Guest 'Flow
they best be announcing it soon....you know it is called marketing!!! As you probably know, this is not a MFC arranged event. We are taking part and hosting. We'd be delighted to announce the team and we'd do it yesterday if we had the team. However, we're in the lap of the organisers on that one I am afraid. Don't think we're up here twiddling our thumbs - we've been pushing for it for weeks now! fatcalf
Well if the sceptics don't turn up and miss out on a good day they'll only have themselves to blame. You either fancy it or you don't, my kids are looking forward to it cos Man Utd aren't normally going to be anywhere near Fir Park, good enough reason to go in my book, we don't need petty reasoning against it cos it won't change opinions will it?
