Kmcalpin
Given the wailing and gnashing of teeth on Boards a few months ago, I just thought I'd ask posters who we are missing. Â FWIW I reckon we're only missing Davie Clarkson. The jury is still out on Paul Quinn.

Bill Bones
Clarkson fo me too. Â Although I'd be happier if Smith and Quinn's replacements weren't only on loan.

FWIW I reckon we're only missing Davie Clarkson. The jury is still out on Paul Quinn. I know he didn't leave in the summer but if we had Porter in this team it would be scary stuff. There is another thread about champions league qualification. If we had Porter I'd have no doubt that we would be top of the league just now. So if you think of all the players in the last 12 months that we are missing and if we could have just one of them back I would have to say Chris Porter. trafficlight
Considering all the established players who left Fir Park over the summer, it makes Gannon's progress all the more remarkable. To have made an unbeaten start with last season's team would have been an achievement, but to do so with a completely new side is incredible. Can't praise him enough. Robyn
Don't know about us missing Hughes but, Hughes is missing us.  I totally agree though, the only one I feel we are missing is Clarky.  Maros or Tom Hateley? Shug or Forbes? McLean or Hutchinson? Buzz or Ruddy?  All credict to Mr Gannon. MFCGMFC
just imagine if we had faddy/mcdonald/clarky/porter/mccormack or dare i say it even Pearo (pre transfer talk)  imagine have just one of those in the current team, could be the difference between 0-0 and 1-

I think those two were fantastic together, but if I had to choose one I would have to go with Clarky.

I think with the crosses coming in from Hammell, O'Brien and Matouakil would be taylor made for Porter and his ariel presence. I honestly beleive Porter could score 20+ in this team this season. Wellfan1984
no having a dig mate but yass has not put in a decent cross yet  You mean apart from the one Sutton let bounce aff him against Rangers? That was the definition of a perfect cross.
Bill Bones
no having a dig mate but yass has not put in a decent cross yet  Did he not put one into Sutton's path vs Rangers? It bounced out for a goalkick after hitting the striker on the shin.I may be wrong though.

weeyin
If we had the choice, I'd have Porter back. He was a natural finisher - moreso than Clarky, I think. Although Clarky contributed more with his work rate.
nethertonwellfan
it was to low mate sutto needs them head high or there no good But Porter would have put it away and that is my whole point
Big Stall
You mean apart from the one Sutton let bounce aff him against Rangers? That was the definition of a perfect cross. Â Wasn't it Yaas that put in the blinder cross against Rangers that Coke just narrowly headed over? Â Â And for the record, I'de have Porter in the team before Clarkson any day of the week! coldonmac
With the style we are playing now ie with one man up front Clarkie would be ideal, chasing everything and bringing others into play.
weeyin
If we had Porter, though, I think JG might be more inclined to go 4-4-2 (or 4-4-1-1 or 3-1-4-2 or whatever )
GazzyB
I'd chop my left ball off to have big Chrissy Porter back in our team. An absolutely class player!

dazamfc
I'd have Porter back in a flash. He was a brilliant goalscorer that could have been a key part of the Gannon revolution.
DEWELL
Yep if we were miracuosly able to get Porter and Pearson back we could do lot of damage in the League. IF only? Still lets see how our new Polish/English striker does he just might be a good un. .
