bigcol
Is Stevie looking more comfortable and relaxed during games than for a long while ? Passing looks good movement looking good and generally looks a lot better than in the St Johnstone game.
Ya Bezzer!
Voted for Ross Forbes tonight but Hammell would have been my second pick for MOTM.
NEMO
Always been a good player just a bit off form or not the required player against the opposition at times.

Motherwell Seagull
Is Hammell and the rest of the defence trying to prevent crosses into the box as well?? Â Sorry, small bug bear of mine that goes back as long as I can remember
gullane
Last 3 games, Hammell's been solid. Good to see him working on his game and getting some confidence back.
Ernie
Last 3 games, Hammell's been solid. Good to see him working on his game and getting some confidence back. Â I think that this is the biggest thing where he is concerned. Glad to see him playing well again and that the feedback about him on here has been positive for a change. Wonder how long it will last.
Bop
Was also absolutely delighted last night after his cross was deflected in for the goal to see him thumping the well badge on the shirt. Not usually a fan of badge kissers but its different when you can really see that its heartfelt. Mon the Stevie Hammell.
The Ram 89
He's certainly proved the doubters about him being frozen out. Hammell has been and still is a fantastic servant to the club and continues to put in full effort for the shirt each week. Kmcalpin
Is Hammell and the rest of the defence trying to prevent crosses into the box as well?? Â Good question. A typical Stevie Hammell performance last night. Fine attacking game culminating in a well deserved goal, and yes, it was his goal. However defensively he was all over the place at times. Chris
Â Â Stevie Hammell. Last night - 7:44pm. Â Brilliant! Â
Bill Bones
Good question. A typical Stevie Hammell performance last night. Fine attacking game culminating in a well deserved goal, and yes, it was his goal. However defensively he was all over the place at times. Â Crosses coming into the box?? the goals came about from a corner and free-kick. Difficult to stop. The cross in the first half that Foran should have done better with was the result of Forbes,I think, giving the ball away ridiculosuly cheaply. He had a good game defensively, albeit he wasn't tested much.
East_Stand_Al
I may be going mad but did I see Hammy out jumping several players with a massive jump to head the ball in the first half just on our 18 yard line ? Â Boing said Hammy

Rickoza
Bit of chat from Stevie today...... Â Hammell hoping for new Well deal Defender Steven Hammell is aiming to retain his place in the Motherwell team to ensure he secures a new contract at Fir Park. Â The full-back is closing in on 400 appearances for the club and wants to mark the milestone by signing a new deal with the SPL outfit. Â He returned to Motherwell for his second stint in January 2008 following 18 months at Southend and is keen to stay with Jim Gannon's side. Â "It's a lot of games, but hopefully I'll play most of the matches this season and make the 400," said Hammell in the Daily Record. "I don't imagine many players will have done that. Â "I'm in the last year of my contract, so need to stay in the team and stay fit." Â The 27-year-old also harbours ambitions of breaking back into the Scotland squad five years after winning his solitary cap against Sweden. Â Hammell played in the B international against Northern Ireland earlier this year and hopes he can earn a call-up to George Burley's senior squad. Â He added: "I'll keep my head down, try to play my best for Motherwell, and hopefully the Scotland call will come along."
Frazzie
That picture of the baby with Hammells face is fucking disturbing.
Dee
I think the title of this thread is ridiculous. Stevie wasnt playing to his best ability for a small period but id say reborn is a bit extreme. One of the best left backs in the league and hopefully this continues! bigcol
After the speculation of his departure from the club the poor performance against St Johnstone and the slating he got on here I don't think that the title is ridiculous nor extreme. underboyleheating
Stevie was one of the very few who got pass marks from me today. Although he still struggles to deliver the final ball when it really matters.
Fi2810
Hammell is brilliant and I hope he makes the 400 game mark. Think he should get a new contract as he works really hard every game he plays. Cmon Stevie Hammell.
