Neil
Well, realistically he was never going to sign here permenantly so as long as he gives 100% for us til January, that's all we can hope for.

Maxi
Unless we're up challenging the Old Firm in January, he may stay. Na he's off in the window.
McLovin
Bit of a tosser coming out with that, I hope he does get into the premiership cos then it means he has been outstanding for us. Skint Rangers can't afford him , dont need him either, Celtic also don't need him. I think his best chance is to play well and get signed by a Championship club unless Hearts try and poach him. Neil
Now, before we crucify him, I was led to believe he doesn't speak much, if any, English? Could there have been a break down in communication? Where exactly is that story published? I really don't see the problem in the guy having ambition, that's how Motherwell roll. weeyin
Indeed. Or, knowing our OF obsessed press, he could well have been asked a leading question such as, "Would you like to move on to Rangers or Celtic, or maybe even an EPL club when your loan deal expires?" and he answered "Oui". That then becomes a quote.
Rickoza
Rancid story firstly? Hmmm......I smell bulls**t.......
Malky79
Don't give a toss, we were never keeping him if he played well I just hope he backs up his ambition with solid performances for us and good luck to him if he does that. Desp
Agree with Neil on this one, what's wrong with the guy showing ambition? He obviously wants to play at a higher level and feels coming on loan here is the way to do that. I very highly doubt that he's actually come out and said "I want to play for Celtic or Rangers" I'd assume he's said that he would like to move onto a bigger club in England, and the journalist in question (looking for an OF slant on it) has suggested a move to the Old Firm and big Yass never ruled it out. Those calling big Yass "a useless c*nt" need to dry their eyes. As long as he performs well over the next 3 months i'll be delighted and i'll wish him the best when he moves on. steelboy
he would need to take a massive wage cut to come and play for us permanently so why would he even consider it? as long as he keeps showing the effort he has since he arrived i'll be pleased. i'd question the wisdom of him playing so far up the park but he's obviously been instructed to do it by gannon or he'd be getting subbed/his baws booted. fat_tony
Wouldn't surprise me if he's been caught with a loaded question there but to be honest, he needs to do a fair bit of work on the defensive side of his game before he's likely to get a big move anywhere. Fair play to the guy, he's looking good going forward but he's still got a lot to learn. Glad he's got a bit of ambition though and to be honest, as long as he gives his all until January then that's all we can ask. It's different if it's one of our own players but when he's here on loan, all we can ask for is his best while he's here.

Disagree mate, I'm under no illusions that the boy is using us for a stepping stone but there is no need to be so blatant in underlining his desire to leave us for one of our rivals in the not too distant future. I happily backed the likes of Pearson and Skippy over the years after considerable good service to Motherwell but the situation with Yass doesn't sit so easily with me. Steve Diggle
Ambition? Is the SPL a higher level than the SPL these days? Anyways I think the boy has been set up via a curve ball. Methinks it might be a good idea to put together a "things not to say to the press" presentation together for the induction training for new signings. I happily backed the likes of Pearson and Skippy over the years after considerable good service to Motherwell but the situation with Yass doesn't sit so easily with me. I don't think it's any less blatant that Chris Porter for example, who said his first press conference im sure that he was looking to move on after his contract, perhaps to the Old Firm. Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't Giles Coke come out with something recently saying if he performs well enough he'll get a big move? I just think there's no need to have a go at a player for openly talking about his future and his career plans. People need to take off their C&A tinted specs when analysing these kind of comments. If he had only said that he wanted a move to the Championship/Premiership after his loan spell, not one would have batted an eye lid. I think it's because the OF was mentioned (like others have said, a set-up by the journo no doubt) that some people have become angry or disappointed. He's already said in his interview that for as long as he's here, he'll do the very best he can for the manager and the fans. That's good enough for me

Big Stall
Lets put this into perspective. Which scenario would you rather: A- Play infront of 5000 fans every other week, make 2k a week if he's lucky, train at the dalziel, share a dressing room with McGarry, live in the doonside tower? B- Play infront of 50,000 fans every other week, make 10-15k a week, train at Murray Park, share a dressing room with Kirk Broadfoot, live in take your pick from Bothwell, the west end, Bearsden, Helensburgh etc. Just sayin. milo
Surely sharing a dressing room with Clubfit isn't a sweetner? I think the story is in the Record therefore should be diregarded instantly, however I do wish players wouldn't comment on playing at an alleged higher level unless their game is flawless. And even then... They've probably fed him a loaded question 'cos a story that doesn't have an Old Firm sub-plot is deemed worthless to these rags. MJC_MKI
Agree with Neil on this one, what's wrong with the guy showing ambition? Absolutely nothing atall, but I find it very disrespectful of a player to come out and openly say that he "will stay here six months then look for a move elsewhere". Who does this guy think he is? He's been here just over a month and so far he's been very average I would say and now he thinks he's too good for us? Scott McDonald and Mark McGhee are strongly disliked by sections of the Motherwell support for similar comments to the press when they were here, but at least they had actually proved what they could do whilst at Motherwell FC. I don't begrudge any Motherwell player or manager the chance to move on to bigger clubs, nor do I blame them for it as that's just the way it is. I do however find it a different story when someone openly talks of their desire to move to 'bigger and better things' after they've only stayed here for as long as they have to, ie. "I'll stay for six months". Especially more so when the player in question has only been here a month and hasn't really done anything to suggest that they are worthy of playing at a higher level.
