Guest 'Flow
I would check with Saints tomorrow morning - They didn't have anyone in Thursday or today so it's been difficult to get anything confirmed. Our General Manager was told on Wednesday that they have two additional sections (250 seats each) still available and they would have them printed up to be sold on the day in that booth. But, given we've been trying for two days to get a hold of someone at Love Street, anyone without a ticket still wanting to go should maybe give them a wee buzz tomorrow morning. Great to see some openness Flow. In the past this is just the sort of situation that some would have got torn into MFC for. Yes, we've suffered from poor communication but its not all one way. Guest 'Flow
Good news... We've managed to get it confirmed that indeed, another 500 tickets have been made available as first instructed on Wednesday and they will be on sale from the ticket booth at Love Street (next to the away turnstiles) from 1pm. CLICK HERE Enjoy the game lads and get right behind the boys... Saints will have a massive, vocal backing today so the 'Well need everything you can muster. 'Mon the Steelmen! Hmm An alternative view would be that it isnt rocket science that St Mirren like MFC would be closed for the two days so have the information and make it public on the 31st rather than the morning of the game. At least it's good news that everyone should get in , 'mon The 'Well.
Guest 'Flow
We were only told on the Wednesday afternoon after they phoned for an update as to how many we had sold. When we had informed them that we had less than ten left, they said they'll look at getting another 500 made available. Despite phone calls and emails on Thursday and Friday, we only were able to confirm it with them this morning. We didn't want to announce on Wednesday (or Thursday or Friday) encase they weren't going to go ahead with it and it was us that was giving our wrong or premature information and leaving people disappointed. Not ideal we can only confirm six hours before kick off but I suppose with the holiday period and the likes then there was very little Motherwell could do despite our best attempts at early confirmation. 'Flow Fair enough although as they were shut for two days and i dont suppose they are printing them as we speak i still think that you (the club rather than blaming you personally) couldve had confirmation on Wednesday and put it out. I know theres loads goes on around a football club , sponsors , hospitality and loads more but to the rank and file getting into the game is one of the most important things to know. Following on from the "communications" thread on here where it was said lessons had been learned from the Nancy ticketing thing , we had the Hamilton saga days later where the ticket office was shut , ticket office was open and at one of the next all ticket games we still have some confusion. Well done on Inverurie BTW i think the club done well there. I think that it should be priority though in future that the best info is available on tickets , that means accurate TO opening times in advance on the official site as opposed to announcing at 10 oclock at night or as you say 6 hours before KO that there will be tickets available after all. Keep up the good fight
Well-Made
The thing is the club was told that St Mirren would look at getting another 500 tickets for us and that was the last communication they had. Do you then expect the Club to announce that St Mirren would look at getting extra tickets for sale on the day then 6 hours before the game they have to announce that St Mirren haven't been able to get them? When tickets are being supplied by another club the best thing the club can do is wait until they have confirmation. There's already been a post before 'Flow confirmed the tickets about someone leaing Aberdeen on the off chance he MIGHT get a ticket. In this instance he is aware that he might not get a ticket but what if he had left Aberdeen thinking he was garaunteed one? Following on from the "communications" thread on here where it was said lessons had been learned from the Nancy ticketing thing , we had the Hamilton saga days later where the ticket office was shut , ticket office was open and at one of the next all ticket games we still have some confusion. The Club did it right this time, there was no confusion as the Club did let it be known earlier in the week how many tickets they had left from their initial allotment. They also let it be known that IF there was any left they would be on sale on the day. As 'Flow said they had 10 left at one point so there'd have been no sale on the day. If anything it's good on the club for being able to get another 500 tickets. If we sell these out then there'll be 1500 Motherwell fans at the game which is a helluva lot more than we normally take. Flow's post dated at 730 yesterday yesterday advises us to phone St Mirren , whether that's in an official MFC capacity or what i dont know ? so no confusion right enough. St Mirren announced days ago that it was a sell out so they werent going to be selling these 500. Most (Every?) SPL club shuts down for the 2 days , every club knows every other club closes for the two days so the options are chase it up for the fans before or leave it to this morning. Did St Mirren decide this morning or Wednesday is the question i suppose ? Id hope for better next year if we didnt chase it at COB on Wednesday, at least there are extra tickets , so no more flogging of a dead horse. 'Mon the 'Well. Kmcalpin
Its not unreasonable to expect that a club might close down for a day or two at New Year, agreed. However, in the past no-one from MFC has publicly said what was going on in this kind of situation. This has led some posters to start lambasting MFC for not doing enough..."Why isn't MFC trying to get more tickets...anything MFC is involved in is a shambles." As a result the club has taken stick unfairly for situations outwith its contol (as we all know of course there's also occasions when it has deserved criticism). More openness can only be a good thing.
