Motherwell manager Jim Gannon and striker Lukas Jutkiewicz have been named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Manager and Young Player of the Month for October, respectively.

The fourth-placed Steelmen were unbeaten in the SPL last month, taking eight points in total and holding leaders Celtic to a goalless draw at Parkhead.

On-loan Everton forward Jutkiewicz, 20, scored three times in four games, including a brace in the 3-3 draw at St Mirren.

All the sensible money is on Accies for saturday then!

I'm not a boo-boy as such, and I like both Gannon and the Duke, but I don't honestly think either award was deserved. Having said that, there's been plenty of times when deserving 'Well players and managers have been overlooked so it's nice to have our boys recognised.

Think Gannon probably deserved his, won all the home games drew all the away games. Do that all season and you'll be tough to stop. Agree with the comments re Jutkiewitz who has done well scoring in two of the four games, from what I heard excellent at Parkhead and led the line well on Saturday but just not convinced he has done enough to win the award. His advantage over Saunders is that he is an attacker and therefore gets noticed more often. However its nice to see the silverware down Motherwell way so mustn't grumble.
