Auldyin
I meant to put this in before, I haven't saw it anywhere else, for give the delay but I'm on a lot of pills just now. One of the reporters, after the St. Midden (3-3) game,in the NOTW or Sunday Mail called the team in his report:: GANNON'S GOSLINGS (eg. Ancell's Babes) If we were scoring freely eg. 3or4-0 then it could be Gannon's Cannons. Anybody got any other ideas. I quite like GOSLINGS myself. Yabba's Turd
Outside of the Ancell Babes has any other 'Well team had a nickname like that? Me personally I would give naming a 'Well side a bodyswerve, that kind of thing is from a different era.
Motherwell Football Club
Motherwell will do just fine.
Auldyin
I put this topic in to see if anybody came up with anything, a little mind exercise. As above most nicknames of this type are started by reporters, some click with fans some don't. The Ancell Babes clicked because they were a young team who played free fast flowing football as it should be played. In the fifties there was no 4-2-2, 4-3-3 or even 6-3-1, we had centre forwards, wingers, inside forwards and half backs, we had no Tartan Army or even Dossers, so who knows this team might become good enough to earn a nickname. I was just interested to see what you lot might come up with as SOME nicknames seem to be relevent today.

Albi
I'm on a lot of pills just now. That's explains this thread then. Gannon's Goslings?
fatcalf
Gannon's Goslings? Sumbdy obviously disnae read OSB. Gannon's Young Guns was proposed and duly accepted by the wider fan base as a suitable term of reference.
Richie
In a similar vein, I suppose any opposition we play could be deemed "Gannon fodder" (... searches for a JPEG of the computer game and opens photoshop...)

SuperCC
I like the idea but would settle for being called something simple this year like Scottish Cup Winners or SPL runner-up
