milo
Don't see this anywhere so here goes....  Biggest game of the season so far for me and well up for it. Would love a win like in no other thus far.  Hasn't been any press on the injuries that blighted the Accies game, but if fit I'd play   Ruddy  Yassin Hutch Reynolds Hammell  O'Brien Jennings Lasley Humphrey  The Juke Sutton    Possibly a bit unfair on some to miss out and I can't for the life of me see Gannon dropping Coke, Forbes and Hateley, but I think the midfield could do with a bit more dig.  Who knows what the score will be? It's too hard to call these days! Please, please, please let's have a win though.
WellTiliDie
Should be an exciting afternoon on Saturday and hopefully we can get one over McGhee with a comfortable win. Assuming that everyone is fit i would go with............  ------------------------Ruddy----------------------  Moutaoukil------Saunders-----Hutchison------Reynolds   O'Brien-----------Coke---------Jennings-------Humphrey  --------------Murphy-----------Jutkiewicz------------  Murphys confidence should be sky high having netted 3 times in his last 2 games and i thought Jennings did enough against Hamilton to merit a place in the starting line up this weekend.  I predict a 2-0 win for the Well. Dodge
Why are the 2 of you swapping Humphrey and O'Brien out of their normal position. Jim O'Brien could cover on the right hand side as well as the left but we've never seen Humphrey play out on left hand side. In saying that, knowing Jim Gannon anything is possible but I see no reason to change this.
Frazzie
Surely you both have the wingers the wrong way round? Or is that a sneaky tactic that I'm not clever enough to understand?  Anyway, my team would be...  _________________Ruddy__________________  Hately___Hutchison_____Reynolds____Hammell  Humphrey____Coke_____Forbes_______O'Brien  __________Sutton_____Murphy______________   I would play Hately at right back as I am not convinced with Yassin, and I think Hately's more disciplined in terms of dealing with Aluko. I also think Forbes is due a spell on the bench as he hasn't been doing enough for me recently, despite his goals, but I don't think this is the game for it as they are pish in midfield and we could be doing with a creative spark in there.  Even though I don't really rate Murphy, I'd give him the nod as his confidence must be sky-high after his goal against Accies and his double for Scotland during the week. Would also say we've got plenty on the bench to change it if it'snot working, which is unusual for us. I'm quietly confident about this one. New one on me, Lasley to give the midfield more dig? It would be a first...

I grudgingly agree with you there, although I like him a lot. Would hate to see him leave, and can't see how Jennings is any better so far. tottenmfc
Have to say I don't see what Jennings has done to deserve a starting place... For me, with a full squad to pick from he'd be 6th choice centre mid, marginally above McGarry...

Not saying he deserves a start but from what I saw of the Accies game his attitude was spot on and was certainly trying to impress. Way above McGarry in the midfield list IMO. carlukemurray
Strange to see Forbes dropped from a few team selections.  He didn;t do much against Hearts other than his goal.  But he is good for a goal, especially when he gets the chance to move forward.  I'd also like to see Murphy start up front with Sutton dropping to the bench. Give him a chance to run at defenders and see how he gets on.  PREDICTION - McGhee to get pelters
kmmfc
I would play Hately at right back as I am not convinced with Yassin, and I think Hately's more disciplined in terms of dealing with Aluko. Â I'm sure Aluko is injured and won't be playing on Saturday which is a bonus. Just need to avoid giving away free kicks around the box because of Mulgrew's ability from set-pieces. Well Up For It!
Biggest game of the season so far for me and well up for it. Would love a win like in no other thus far. Â That's a bit presumptuous, you don't even know me!! Â Nah, I actually agree milo, is a big game and I hope we can win it. Not only to ram it down McGhee's throat, but to keep the chase on for third spot and yet another European adventure. Â I think it will be a tense game, with a good atmosphere, and I predict a narrow 1-0 for the mighty 'Well!

steelboy
i'd definitely have yassin in the team if he's fit. he did a great job on driver and mcgeady and when he's actually in position he's a very solid defender. the only time he and humphrey have really operated in tandem was at celtic park and i thought they showed signs of being a good partnership.  forbes hasn't played well for a while now and should definitely drop out. i'd also have murphy in for sutton to give us a bit more variety up front as ifill and considine won't like jamie running at then with the ball.  ruddy yassin saunders reynolds hammell humph coke hateley o'brien murphy lukas  hutchison has been impressive when he's played but saunders has played against harder teams and shone so i think he should keep his place. the vital thing for me is having stevie hammell fit, without him we've struggled to play the ball out of defence. Frazzie
That is great news about Aluko. For me, that leaves Mulgrew as their only talent, and from left back he shouldn't be able to worry us unless, as someone else said, we give away set pieces in dangerous positions. Hopefully Humphrey will run the legs off him and keep him pinned back where he can't damage us. The Aluko news has just increased my confidence tenfold. Moan The 'Well! MearnsWell
PREDICTION - McGhee to get pelters  Not too worried about it according to the Rancid today :  McGhee Rancid article  Mark McGhee: I have no worries about Fir Park returnNov 18 2009 Ian Orr  ABERDEEN boss Mark McGhee insists he won't worry about facing another barrage of abuse when he returns to former club Motherwell on Saturday.  McGhee, who quit Fir Park for the Dons in the summer, was the subject of a vile verbal attack by a group of visiting fans when Well played at Pittodrie earlier in the season.  Asked if he was worried about more taunts when the Dons travel to Lanarkshire he said: "I don't have any fear of anything like that.  "I was disgusted at the time but since then the support I got through emails and letters from Motherwell fans far outweighed any damage done in terms of my relationship with Motherwell.  "After the game I went for dinner with John Boyle and a few of the guys and I'll do the same this weekend.  "I have a great relationship with them down there and have no problems in that respect.  "Of course I want to go back there and see my team beat them. It's always the same. Why shouldn't it be? I have no fears about returning and finding it awkward."  McGhee revealed he might still be in charge at Motherwell if financial pressures had not forced the break-up of his side.  He said: "What was a shame was that the financial climate conspired against us going on and being able to build a really good team instead of having to dismantle one.  "We had the likes of Chris Porter, David Clarkson and Ross McCormack up front and boys like Paul Quinn getting better all the time. We could have built on that and been a serious force by now.  "It would have been our third season together and we could maybe have made an impression on the top two, particularly given the season they are having.  "But that team had to be dismantled for financial reasons, including Boyle asking me to help in selling Clarkson and Quinn. In a sense at that point Motherwell really needed me to go.  "I wasn't asked to leave but common sense told me it wouldn't harm their finances were I to move on.  "There was a lot of sense about me leaving regardless of the fact Motherwell are four points ahead of us at the moment. That's irrelevant because my long-term plan at Aberdeen will prove me right in my decision to come here."

steelboy
it's quite funny how he's stated a few times he left motherwell because he wasn't up for the rebuliding job but if anything he has a similar and probably bigger task on his hands at aberdeen. obviously anyone would be frustrated about the team being dismantled but he fucked it up himself in the summer of 2008 when he wasted our budget on malcolm who was a disaster, o'brien who wasn't ready for the spl, sutton who is mediocre and klimpl who was injured for three months. 2 or 3 good signings that summer would have made a huge difference. Bop
I think he wasnt interested in rebuilding without a budget. At the time he went up North i'm quite sure he thought he had a budget in place to bring in the types of players he originall wanted.
