Rickoza
Disappionted we didn't win but, on the whole, won't argue the visitors deserved a point. We didn't play particularly well and irrespective of the merits or otherwise of the substitutions, Gannon perhaps saw something amiss we didn't. One defeat in 12 games, that's remarkable. And, away from home, I make it our best start to a season since 1933-34 and it was mid-January 1934 before we lost away in the league that season. steelboy
We could very easily be where Falkirk and Killie are right now. you're 100% right. however we have (due to gannon, our superior youth system and the legacy of clarky and quinn) much better players than accies and falkirk. our last two games we've performed much lower than our potential. questions must be asked. Rickoza
Dip in form. Always going to happen. We'll pick up as well and play much better again.

Rickoza
Might be making more chances but overall we aint playing the flowing football we did early on. That's what I meant by dip in form, it's not flowing like it did. But it will again I'm sure.
fat_tony
Dip in form. Always going to happen. We'll pick up as well and play much better again. Exactly. Especially with the amount of young players we have in our team, it was bound to happen at some point. We're still picking up points though but it's going to be tricky from here on out. Dundee United next week, Hibs the week after, followed by Celtic and Rangers. Lets hope we can keep picking up points over this spell and pick up the form to get us through a tough period of games. Rickoza
Some of the stuff early on was fanstastic. Particularly in Europe, and we fair destroyed Kilmarnock with ease. Looked neat enough to me.

Totally forgot it was followed by the OF. Not going to get a harder run of games than that all season. 6 points out of 12 here wouldn't be a disaster. Looked neat enough to me. flamutari and llanelli were pub teams and we got a chasing for most of the steaua tie. we played well against killie and rangers i don't think we've played badly but today and a fortnight ago we were 10xs better than we were at pittodrie, love street, tannadice or against falkirk at fir park. Scarecrow
Without trawling through the previous pages. I thought Aberdeen more than deserved their point today, they should have won it at the death to be honest. They were the better footballing side over the ninety minutes and so credit where credit is due. We are turning into the Man City of the SPL (without the cash obviously!!!), draw specialists. Believe me next Saturday will be a much more difficult test than today and if you gave me a point right now, I'd bite yer arm off.
Tweed
Actually thought our best spell of the game was from about 55 mins until they equalised. Won't be a popular opinion but the best summary of the match I've heard was from Mutley on the BBC website. Not sure if JOB for Forbes was the reason for Aberdeen's resurgence in the second half, I think it may have happened anyway, however it certainly didn't help. Certainly was O'Brien's quietest half for a long time. Got to say Aberdeen were much better than I have seen them for a few seasons today. I know we mock McGhee but I have a feeling he may be beginning to make a difference there. Dammit.
gullane
Unlike some on here, I have taken the trouble to read past posts. That's what makes this a community. Overall, I'm not too dispondant with the Aberdeen game. Quick reality check - Motherwell is a young, developing side. The two big weaknesses - we naively defend too deep and we don't finish off games when we've got the ascendency. The first problem can be addressed with tactical planning and training. For the second, we need to improve passing, especially from wide areas. Yassin - great pace, no cross. The future is still bright.
Rickoza
I saw that! Think Mr Foster was most apologetic for it, kept on raising his hand towards you.
nethertonwellfan
I thought the first half we were the better team. I thought Murphy was quality at times and his runs were a joy to watch. Ruddy was fantastic. The second half was shocking at times, we seemed to be camped in our 6 yard box at times and it was nervy to say the least. I also thought the ref was a dick. From where I was sitting it looked as if he wasn't gonnae book Coke but was influenced by the Aberdeen players. Although I do have to say it was a stone wall booking. The sending of was an absolute disgrace. He didn't take his shirt off at all and refs need to be allowed to apply some common sense and realise that football is a passionate game. The way the game was going near the end I am happy with the point but they were there for the taking. We cause them alot of trouble with balls over the top and maybe should have killed the game of. Thus, I still don't know whether to view it as a point gained or 2 dropped. I'm confused.

Big brave soldier I went for a cause. My nephew wanted to go to the game and until yesterday he was a follower of the blue half of the scummy bigot boys and i have been taking him for years to try and rescue him from the darkside. So he made me a promise that if I tok him yesterday he would see the light and become a well fan. So I took him and he got his full motherwell strip, gloves and scarf. He will now be getting a half season book and subsequent season book until for life. What a relief it only took 12 years . So it was incredibly easy, afterall it was my duty. Tweed
He didn't take his shirt off at all and refs need to be allowed to apply some common sense and realise that football is a passionate game. Look on the FIFA website where it states that a referee must caution a player if he removes his shirt or covers his head with it. Pretty definite and no room for common sense. The ref would have been marked down had he not booked him. Agree the law is an ass but as the enforcer of that law the ref was quite correct. Actually thought on the whole he was pretty good yesterday. Agree also that I didn't think he was going to book Coke until influenced but could be wrong. DosserJoe
See to be honest - I don't think he booked him for the jersey at all. When he was walking back to his own half he kept shouting for the other Aberdeen players to slow down, so I thought the ref was booking him for timewasting. I'm probably completely wrong and was probably smoking crack yesterday, but canny see a ref sending him off for the jersey!

AndrewK
We shouldve kiled the game off in the first half IMO, Aberdeen didnt show a great deal to merit a anything from the game in the 1st but fuck knows what happened at half time. Gannon tired to fix what wasnt broke and it failed, and it looked like McGhee might've learned how to give a decent team talk. Really shouldve been a win. On a side note, anybody read the programme. I thought Gannons note made for some interesting reading this week.
MJC_MKI
we played well against killie and rangers To be honest, I don't think we've really played that well since the Rangers game. That said, I'm not too despondent by what's went since either, we're doing very well to be where we are. The poster who makes the point that this is a young developing side is spot on, we are a 'team in transition' considering that we lost so many of last season's key players over the summer and Gannon had to come in and basically work with kids whilst rebuilding the squad with his own signings, so to be sitting where we are having lost only once at this stage in the season is fantastic.
