East_Stand_Al
Like probably most of you I'm loving the possesion football we're playing these days, if the opposition don't have the ball they can't score, however I think we are very guilty sometimes of overplaying and trying to pass the ball into the net. I thought there were several times today and in recent games when a more direct approach would have suited, there is a place for route 1 football. Could this be a factor in why we can't capitalise when other teams are reduced to 10men ?
steelboy
naw. we had at least 7 good chances to score today and blew them all apart from one. the only time we did score was barely a chance.
dazamfc
I do think that we were trying to pass it into the net today. If the centre mids just shot when they had the ball at the edge of the box we would have scored one or two more. The only person who had a shot from a distance was Saunders and he came close a few times. Finlay
I'm certain it was Reynolds. One in each half.
Rickoza
Definelty Reynolds. I remember saying to Keef that he's going to score an absolute screamer one of these days, coming closer all the time.
fat_tony
Coke had one from distance, as did Forbes and Reynolds too. How about Murphy's goal last week, or Forbes' against St Johnstone on the opening day? We're shooting from distance much more than we did under McGhee. We're still guilty of trying to overplay at times but I think we're taking much more shots from distance than we did in the last couple of years. We're shooting from distance much more than we did under McGhee. by this point in mcghee's first season we had scored seven goals from outside the box. this season we've scored two. Pepper
Possession football is exactly what we lacked in the 2nd half today. Tho there's a difference in passing for effect and passing to take the sting out of a game, which we haven't been able to do all season.
