Frazzie
Sorry to offend the happy clappy sheep of the Motherwell support, but that wasn't good enough again today. I can't be bothered typing out another rant, so here's a copy/paste of what I said in the other thread earlier in the week because it is still completely relevant... "I don't want to sound like a moaning-faced c**t, but people keep clinging onto this "We've only lost one game" patter, which is all well and good, but we haven't won many and- if you look at all the draws individually- the Celtic game is the only one that felt like a point won to me. All the others have felt like two points dropped, especially the three occasions we've finished the game up against ten men (missing penalties on two out of those three). If we lose the next two games, which we are expected to, the wheels could be well and truly off the wagon and we could find ourselves scrambling about the wrong end of the league. And it won't be because of losing the next two games - it will be because of a plethora of stupid draws brought on by too much dicking about and an inability to kill teams off." Neil
The problem is, we seem to just camp in our own 18 yard box when we are leading, when we have a man advantage we NEED to push up and take the game to them, which we fail today. Another point, that second half today proved if it needed proving that Keith Lasley is not worthy of a starting place in that team. Time and time again he was late in the tackle and giving the ball away constantly. We need someone better.
Jonesy
Why the fuck can we not play against 10 fucking men?? Nearly 20 years I've been going to the games and we still can't fucking learn to take hold a game when we've to the fucking extra man on the fucking park!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAARRRRGHHHHH!!!!!!!! I dont think Lasley was any worse than Coke at times today to be honest but I agree that we need to make the most of the man advantage and take control of the game. Very frustrating
DunnyMFC
The team needs to learn that a goal lead is not enough they need to scored more to kill the game. Just dissapointed that its the 3rd game in a row against 10 men and we have not taken advantage of it.
gary_411
Its not that we can't play against 10 men, we did create a few chances to kill the game off when they were down to ten, we just didnt take them. Its frustrating but it won't be long til it all falls into place. something else
Utter garbage again today. Just told my nephew he can have my season ticket for the rest of the season, he can go and watch that pish every week.
Pepper
Whats worries me more is the huge difference between our first and second half performances. We seem to have players that tire badly, are posted missing or simply stop doing the things that were working for us in the first half. That, and some of Gannon's substitutions,(taking Murphy off today for example) is very frustrating. I can't remember the last time we finished the stronger team, even when the opposition were a man down.

So against Hearts, Hamilton, Abderdeen and United today we have played well against the 10 men? No chance. Utter garbage again today. Burn_Broomfield
No just that, Jim O'Brien is an over-rated fud who's let his own hype go to his head. 2 games in a row now, Gannon has been desperate to get him on when he's not been needed and our system has went to fuck. Just stick with a winning side, Jimbo big man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
star sail
Slightly disappointed by the final result but I enjoyed the game today because I was watching two teams play football. The standard of play was good and better than a lot of the dross I have watched at FP over the years. Dundee Utd look like a decent side so a draw is ok in the big scheme of things. There is a consistency of performance at the moment that we have being crying out for for years. It's just going to take a bit more to turn these draws into victories. The foundation is strong. I am away to happy clappy myself to a good Sat night. We'll beat Hibs!!!

Thought he was a calming influence on the midfield when we needed to slow it down a bit and protect the lead.
coldonmac
Our play is laboured, too often there is an extra pass put in before the ball ends up with the player it should get it and by that time the opposition are prepared and closing the play down. How often when passing it out to Hammell or Yassin today did it get passed to another player for them to pass it on when the original pass should have gone straight to them. Also by the time the ball reached them they had stopped and were waiting or had to go back the way to collect the ball. It happens virtually all the time I'm left wondering if that's what they are told they must do!

Thought he was a calming influence on the midfield when we needed to slow it down a bit and protect the lead. I agree he played fairly well Joe but he had two sloppy losses of possession one of which was a big let off the other eventually via some poor defending ended up in the 2nd goal. Rather see him in ahead of Coke on his recent form but at times he was to keen to impress I think.

This is what worries me, we seem to be trying to walk the ball into the net all the time and it as if they are playing that way to orders. Unfortunately it seems that the team are too scared to shoot on site and I think it is time that we had a player who would not be afraid to miss and just have a dig. I also agree that Lasley is only a bit player although Coke is not being as effective as he was at the start. If you had offered me a draw at 2.59 today after watching United last week I would have been quite happy however, after another draw against a team who had someone sent off I am very disappointed but on the positive happy clappy side we are now 7 unbeaten although 4 draws are a concern. Revenge next week be positive

wellman
Actually disagree with you Neil. Thought he was a calming influence on the midfield when we needed to slow it down a bit and protect the lead. I think you.re right he did try to slow it down unfotunately everyone else was trying to speed things up the result being he was caught twice wilth the ball in the middle of the park once created danger for us the second resulted in them scoring . Like yourself I have been a long time admirer of Las but he could not get to grips with the pace of the game . Taking Forbes off(unless injured ) has proven costly for us two weeks in a row ,we miss his passing ability and his ability to hold the ball in that area it was obvious this also caused Hammell's game to go out the window as he always knows where Forbes is but when Las was brought on Hammell was reluctant(wisely)to go beyond him .
