The most reliable way to get access to the uk sites is to purchase a proxy service from a site like this one:

That cost about 120 quid a year, but is very reliable. I don't use this method, but others do with great success. They offer a free trial if you want to make sure it works for you.

 

The alternative is free, but takes a bit more configuration and messing around. This is what I use, and it does work for the BBC highlights and match day radio broadcasts.

I'd read the comments in this blog as they give some useful tips if you use this method. For example, as soon as you get a valid connection to your target site, you should immediately stop tor.
