cg231087
is there going be anything happening to rember uncle phil at the match today?
lollybabz@mfc
yeah am surprised. i thought that sumfin would have been planned since it was the home game closest to the 29th. Obv more supporters at the home games so thought that something would have been planned for the game today!
ross_mfc91
What exactly can they do? All due respect and i was hurt and upset as anyone else over Phil's untimely death, but what do you really want? We've all paid our respects when it happened, and after the first anniversary, now its just time to let it lie
mon_da_well
There is a walk, in which you can raise money for a worthy cause. Best tribute there could be is you ask me.
Bigeeze
The Walk 10for10 is a great tribute to a great man on the actual anniverary of his death. I'm sure it means more to his family than anything on the closest match day at Fir Park. I mean should we do something at Tynecastle because the game is on their on Tuesday? Im sure it would be appreciated by all if anyone who wishes to pay their respects could see the walkers off from Fir Park or be there to see us arrive at Parkhead (Also sponsers money for the 2 great causes would be appreciated lol)
Bigeeze
Also Ross mfc91 does that mean we should forget anyone who we feel is important to us for whatever reason who has passed away?? Does this include our own loved ones? I suppose you feel we should let it lie and not remember Armistice Day too??
ross_mfc91
What a ridiculous thing to say. Im not saying forget about it, im saying pay tribute privately if wished. I dont see the need for something to happen at a match every single year
Bigeeze
The way you said "let it lie" made it seem otherwise. Just seemed unclear from your choice words
jk2205
Remember Phil by his great goals, leadership and 1991, and get along to the walk 10for10. I think a tribute at club level would of been unneccesary and if the fans wanted to do something they could of. Phil O'Donnell, gone but never forgotten! Frazzie
I agree with Ross. We'll never forget Phil O'Donnell as a club, or as a fanbase, but there's no need to publicly grieve every year, particularly given the time of year that his tragic death occurred. I wouldn't like to think that we dredged it all up again for his wife and kids when they're trying to have a normal Christmas, which will be hard enough for them. Lobey_Dosser
2 years ago today then. Time to remember our captain who gave absolutely verything for the club we love. I hope you are resting in peace Phil.
fat_tony
2 years ago today then. Time to remember our captain who gave absolutely verything for the club we love. I hope you are resting in peace Phil. Yeah, still can't believe it happened. Will always be remembered as a class act and a great leader to the best Motherwell team I've ever seen. In a footballing sense, I still wonder how good the rest of the 07/08 season would have been if he were still playing. All the best to his family and I hope the walk raises a lot of money for a good cause.
Brazilian
Sadly missed, thoughts go out to his family and friends. hopefully the walk, 10 for 10, will help them and raise some funds for their charities
Yir Elder
Can't believe its two years since Uncle Phil passed away. My thoughts are with his nearest and dearest today. #

mon_da_well
Who was it then!? I have the number 14 shirt, which was Phil's. No way it's his, it must have been from another match then. More research required it seems!

Yeah that's pretty much it. I'll need to try and find out what match it's from 'cause it's annoyed me for years not knowing who it belongs to.
