jonnymfc
Just a thought i had mulling over in my mind if we could keep one of the loan signings who it would be? IMO i would sign Ruddy, Great keeper and best in SPL. Solid and generally a safe pair of hands.
Finlay
My choice would be Ruddy, but as I said in another thread we have no chance at either. Couldn't afford the fee or weekly wage, sadly.
WellTiliDie
I would have to go with Ruddy as i've been impressed by him ever since he came to the club especially his triple save up at Tannadice and the penalty stop over in Romania were world class. It took a while for Jutkiewicz to find his game but now he has got going he does look a real handful for opposition defenders and without his 8 goals we would be struggling this season. Neil
Up until recently, I'd have said Ruddy, but I think Juke would give us a much bigger return. He is a class act and I think will go a long way in the game, as will Ruddy, but Strikers bring in the money more than a decent goalie. jonnymfc
Neil, i do like your point, but it doesnt matter if we score 2, with Fraser in goal he is likely to concede 2, unlinke Ruddy who would concede 0 or 1.
weeyin
The Duke, every time. Goalscorers are difficult to come by at the best of times. It would be much easier to sign another keeper from elsewhere than find someone who can bag 20 goals or so a season.
jk2205
The standout keeper of the last ten years for me. In that time, many a good striker has came through the club. So i'd spend the money on Ruddy. Unfortunatly, we wont get either.

I tink we have had a pretty fair return through the years in regards to strikers - Coyne, Coyle, Arnott, Skippy, Porter and to a lesser extent The Duke and Sutton. We have always struggled with keepers and not just guys we have signed from other teams but also our own guys - just when WAS the last time we developed a 1st-choice number one of our own? Ally Maxwell? For me Ruddy represents the best keeper we have had at Fir Park since, probably Dykstra and he has the capabilty of turning a sure defeat into a draw for us. Strikers, I feel, we are pretty well served for. Add in the confidence a defence gets (and our defence in particular!!) from a solid number one and it's gotta be Ruddy for me over The Duke. Wellarmy
Would love Jutkiewicz to stay but we havent had a great keeper in a few years now. So to keep Ruddy would be fantastic.
DunnyMFC
Ruddy for me I think it would be difficult for us to find another keeper of his quality. If it wasn't for him we would have lost alot more games.
Chris
As much as the Juke is an excellent player for a club our size, I'd have to say Ruddy. He's a fantastic goalkeeper who inspires confidence and has won us more points this season than Juke IMO.
Infamous Wee Grafter
Ruddy for me, simply because i think it's harder to replace a good goalie than replacing a good striker.
LadywellToi
Lukas for potential and resale value. unless he gets poached Slane stylee. Ruddy for stability and giving defence confidence (also worth 1 goal per game with his saves) More likely we'd be able to afford Ruddy. East_Stand_Al
Has to be Ruddy for me , every good team needs to be built from the back a good keeper is vital
nethertonwellfan
I have to agree with the ones who say great keepers are harder to come by. It is easier to find a striker as we have proven in the past.
Wellfan1984
Which ever one accepts a 5 year deal. If neither then The Duke as there is always more money in strikers.
Big Stall
I think its also easier to keep hold of goal keepers. They can play brilliant and command some headlines, but these don't alert other clubs the way 15 goals can......
Juan Kerse
The Duke, every time. Goalscorers are difficult to come by at the best of times. It would be much easier to sign another keeper from elsewhere than find someone who can bag 20 goals or so a season. 100% Agreed. Also easier to loan very good goalkeepers due to the unwillingness of managers to rotate them. Most clubs like to keep two good strikers on the bench with another two or three waiting in the wings. The_Pup
I'd opt for Ruddy because I think he would win us more points over the course of a season
well-army
Ruddy for me. Best keeper in the SPL.

Shallow Dave
Ruddy gets my vote, however the Duke has shown massive improvement over the season. Not only is Ruddy a solid 'keeper; he also helps to stabilise the back four. SD
Ya Bezzer!
Both good players but if you want to win games you need to score goals and I'd rather have an average goalkeeper and a good forward than a good goalkeeper and an average forward. Out of the two I'd take Jutkiewicz. Aside from that reckoning goal scorers have better sell on value. How much money have we brought in from goalkeepers? And how much from forward players? Motherwell Football Club
Jutkiewitz between the two on them individually. Jutkiewitz again on contributing to the team. Ruddy is good but he is not as outstanding as people claim him to have been. He was lobbeb by a Bellshill player ffs hahaha. Frazer is more than capable in the SPL and as has been said. An average 'keeper and good striker over, good 'keeper and average striker anyday. Also, if Ruddy was the best 'keeper in the SPL then there wouldn't be any talk of him staying on.
