fatcalf
Red card every day of the week, Miller went in to do damage. Passback correct. Penalty shout wrong. Mixed bag and other things annoyed but no major decisions wrong really other than that mentioned. Not great but easily better than some of his more experienced counterparts. gav212
Was sitting very close to the Miller tackle and i think the ref got it correct, might not look too bad in the video highlights but it was a very poor and overly rash challenge. mfc
it was a really poor tackle fae miller plus the fact that he went into the challenge at pace and if he caught o'brien more fully it easily couldve been a broken leg.the east stand linesman didnt have a clue wit decision to give at times i could count 3 or 4 times in the second half when he didny know to give a corner or a goal kick.i was sitting right in line when murphy went down and it was a definate penalty the linesman shouldve helped out the referee out by putting his flag up cause he had the best position to see it
LadywellToi
Not far away from "the tackle", felt definite yellow for the act, another half for the intent to really hurt O'Brien and I think what pushed ref to red was the swipe/uppercut with his arm when the handbags started. I think that's what the linesman shared with the ref before the decision. Didn't understand Craigan's pass and Ruddy diving on top of it. Ref got it correct. Too far away from the penalty claim to comment. Linesmen don't flag for penalties, if they feel there is a foul, they run to the corner flag and stand still, that designed to help the referee (as he the final decison maker) but not insight the fans if the referee disagrees. Hibs keeper kept on taking the mick with timewasting, should have been booked. Other than persistant fouling not addressed but that's standard for all refs, only time its abated is in the first few weeks of a season when a new initiative is adopted over the summer or after a major finals where they trial something. Ya Bezzer!
I sit more or less right in line with where the Miller/O'Brien tackle happened and I thought Miller tried to do O'Brien, it wasn't late or clumsy it was Miller trying to get him. On the highlights it doesn't look so bad but I got a good look at it at the match and to me at the time it was a red card, although when O'Brien reacted I thought he'd probably go to and was very surprised (and relieved!) when he 'got away' with a yellow. On the penalty I didn't get a clear view at the match only later but it looked a sort of 50-50 one, the type you get sometimes and other times you don't. He got the pass back one spot on, Ruddy made a misjudgement in catching it. On the rough play of Hibs, maybe we had fouls denied to us but overall I'd rather have a referee not blowing his whistle and letting things go than stopping the game every minute or so for a 'technical' foul. In the end we deservedly won the match so you can't complain too much, unlike say a couple of weeks ago...
