fatcalf
Wee bit info required for my auld fella. He was in a discussion in the club over the weekend and wants to know how high a position we've managed in the league this season. Were we ever as high as 2nd at any point? Special aka
From memory I think we were Matt, after 2 games with 4pts, then I went to the game at Todders and we were shyte and slipped down thereafter.
Wellfan1984
Not after two games as Celtic and Hibs had 6 points after the Second Saturday, while Rangers joined them on the Sunday.
Cakes
The highest we've been this season (so far) is third, which was after the second game.

Gaag
looking at the graph Cakes put up there, it's been a very consistent season we've had this year
Special aka
Strange how we lost a few then won a few and basically stayed put.
Gaag
i'd say it goes to show that we should still be grateful to Jim Gannon for his 6 month stint, as well as the players he brought in.
Neil
It does show the consistency was beginning to slip into poor form towards the end of his tenure. Thankfully the teams below us, Killie, St Mirren, Hamilton etc have all had very poor seasons or we'd have been lower than we were, I can't remember a season where so many teams have been consistently poor. Hibs away, Celtic at home, Rangers away????? I'd defy any Motherwell manager to go through a schedule like that unscathed FFS. Anyway not wanting to drag all that debate up again, credit to both managers this season for relative success in their respective tenures, especially given the state Noah left us in. Relegation for Aberdeen would be a fitting testament to his legacy cos the squad he left behind was heading that way until JG came in and worked his magic. As much as I agree, sadly life is not that good...
Special aka
I think he'll be lucky to be there next season. Besides I'd rather Midden went down.

That's not the whole story The whole run, including the three draws before was shocking, especially when it was against 10 man Accies, 10 man Aberdeen and 9 man Dundee United, those three results you mention and ended with a hammering at home against St Johnstone. Aberdeen won't get relegated this season, unfortunately - maybe next
LadywellToi
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPL_2009-10 click on the history tab at the top and select whatever date you want from the season and you can get the league table on that date. Aberdeen won't get relegated this season, unfortunately - maybe next No-one asked about the whole story, I quoted Neil saying near the end of his tenure. I would say that was the dismal run of results immediately prior to his departure not the ones we all think we should have won earlier cos we're the bestest team in Europeshire. He wasn't here that long after all. Anyway I said I dind't want to drag it all back up, I know you don't agree with me or the many others who feel Gannon is being demonised by a section of the fanbase. I certainly don't agree on many of the views towards him in here but I sure as Hell won't be wasting hour after hour debating in circles. Back on topic, thanks for the help folks. Ya Bezzer!
We were only third for a day, Rangers won on the Sunday pushing us back to fourth. Yep, I have our highest league position as 4th but I only update after all the games per round have been played. We've spent 5 weeks this season in 4th position. It's one of those odd things that our lowest league position this season was into Brown's excellent run. After 2 wins and a draw we dropped to 7th for a week, the only time we've been out of the Top Six this season.
