Rickoza
Shit happens. Was always going to be a sickener when we lost the unbeaten run, the circumstances of today don't make it any easier.
Shaka
Payback for our 4-0. Perhaps we'll all have a wee reality check now, but lets not get too despondent. it's the last weekend in March and we loose our 1st league game of the year FFS. Nothing to do with a reality check, certainly not on my part, Its just seriously annoying + embarassing when we end up pished on by a team who spend almost the entire game with 10 men and play like its a training game. Vent frustrations certainly but I (and I suspect/hope others too) am not deluded enough to expect us to win every game we play Oh, and McGlinchey sounds like a pile of shite, hopefully just keeping in turn with todays performance + not an indicator on his actual ability

Special aka
Look Shaka, yer a Well fan. You know it's not an easy ticket. Ok it's a bad result, but not the end of the world. Had we been sitting with 20pts I'd be creasing my keggs, but thankfully the bigger picture is a more pleasant one. Some on here were talking of 2nd in the league last week. That's who my "reality check" comment was aimed at.
Welldel
To be honest this will have been a good season no matter the score today United are a good side and our run had to come to an end sometime.
Shaka
Get a grip mate how many times have u seen a team going down to 10 men and suddenly play better. And how the fuck can this be more embarrassing than st mirren last week they lost against 9 men!!!!!! Weve played against 10 men for 75 mins, Their Keeper has barely had a save to make, they have played like its a training game, and they won 3-0. St Midden played against 10 men for 30 mins,9 men for 20 of those and lost to a late sucker punch from the best team in the league so its safe to say its more embarassing than the cup final. And its not about them playing better with 10, they werent out of 1st gear all afternoon, as i said before, I dont expect us to win or be undefeated all season, but I do have the right to vent my frustrations when we get hammered in this fashion
Rickoza
More importantly now we must win next week-end to keep in the hunt. Preferrably a draw midweek, next weekend Hibs host Celtic and Dundee United go to Saint Johnstone. Could all turn around again in an instant, it's football. Gaag
Not too upset that we lost as I expected as much, and our run had to come to an end sooner or later. What's really disappointing is the manner in which we lost. In future, if we have an opposition player sent off, we should immediately hook one of our own players as well! Shaka
Look Shaka, yer a Well fan. You know it's not an easy ticket. I think thats why Im so pissed off today, havent had to get too annoyed in almost 3 months, was starting to feel like an old firm fan there with all these wins + clean sheets, kind of cleansing to have this now
Rickoza
That's not a bad idea. Someone should just walk up and tell the Ref he's a tosser for putting us in shit again. That'd soon even things up!

trafficlight
Yeah, bad day today, but in the grand scheme of things aren't too bad at all. One setback isn't a disaster, and a top six finish looks the safest bet. I'm away to see how my team fairs at Bolton. A win is vital. Catch you later
MJC_MKI
Run over, push for Europe over aswell. Very disappointing, especially against ten men but United are a very good side and playing them at Tannadice is a very tough task so it's no real shock that we've lost today but obviously the scoreline is the real boot in the balls. Now it's all about how we pick ourselves up as we've seen it many times when a team that's been on a long, unbeaten run suddenly loses and then hits a slump and starts dropping points all over the place. Hopefully Brown & Knox can lift the boys to get back on track next weekend against Falkirk.
Wellfan1984
Well least the decision has been made for me. Either watch Mallorca get humped by Messi or watch Motherwell be humped on BBC Alba... think I'll go for the Mallorca game... Lets just take our revenge on Falkirk - and maybe hope for a United win/draw against Hibs during the week.
Wellfan1984
Run over, push for Europe over aswell. What you think we're not gonna win another game this season? Or do you think 5th won't be good enough. Can't see United losing to Raith and I certainly not see Ross County beating Celtic.
Shaka
Itl just be our luck to finish 5th + Raith or Ross County to fluke their way to the final, not a religious man but have been praying for a Rangers/Celtic/Hibs/Utd combo in the final, still hope thats the case. As Rickoza says,it can all change in the next 7 days again, but we MUST win next week if we want europe. With the Celtic game the week after, if we fail to beat Falkirk we have the prospect of going into the split having spunked the best part of an 8 point lead over Hearts
Wellfan1984
As long as United win the cup we'll be in Europe no matter if Celtic get somehow papped oot. Good to know we'll know who is in the final before the split fixtures which means we'll know exactly what the minimum requirement is for being in Europe
Shaka
not the case, If Its a Utd v Ross County final + Utd win, Ross County get the Euro place. Sure Smith tried to change that fact but UEFA dinghied him
Gaag
Funny feeling it'll be a Raith V Celtic final meaning 5th place isn't good enough

Sure Smith tried to change that fact but UEFA dinghied him Nope that only happens if the winner of the cup qualifies for the Champions League. If the team that wins the Scottish Cup qualifies for the Europa League via the league as well, they will take the cup place (as it has a higher standing according to UEFA - in other words a later entry date) the next team in the league takes their league placement. If they end third, it would be 4th place which would leave 4th places position open to 5th. If they end 4th, it sill leaves it open to 5th place. Saldy so do I Gaag but the main thing is the cup Semi Finals are before the first round of Post-Split Fixtures which means we'll know exactly where we need to end to reach Europe. Rickoza
It's gotta be Celtic v United in the final. The push for Europe is nowhere near over. 7 games to go, we've all got to face the Old Firm and each other. So much can change, no need for depression. Rickoza
Reading all the reports it sounds like we were just up against a very stubborn, well-organised United defence who took advantage of us puching up the park for the tird goal, and also a mistake from Ruddy. Looking forward to hearing what those who were at the game think, but it sounds like we attacked much more but were clearly less clinical than United. The stats, 4 shots at goal for the home side compared to our 8, seem to back that up.
