Hope all Motherwell fans are keeping well.

 

Just like to make you aware that we are currently selling dvd copies of the Llanelli v Motherwell game, 9th July, in which, not that i can re-call, you may have won in the odd goal to three .

 

All monies raised from this are going to the Llanelli AFC Charity. Below, i have copied the letter we are sending to businesses in our area, to try and raise sponsorship/donations for our programme for the next Charity match on May 9th at Stebonheath Park.

 

Some of you might re-call us contributing towards 16 children fron Glasgow to have a holiday last year, as copied below.

 

The dvds will be priced at £4.00, which will include p+p.

As a leading Company within the area, we would like to make you aware of the Llanelli AFC Charity.

 

Llanelli AFC Charity was formed in January 2009 to help fundraising for Llanelli AFC to link with orphanages when playing in European Competitions. It also aims to help underprivileged children in Llanelli and other good causes.

 

In 2009, the major achievements were :

 

· 8 children from Latvia and Lithuania visiting Llanelli.

· Grant to Llanelli’s Jordan Fuge to help with college.

· Donation to Gôl, who help European Orphanages where Wales play.

· Donation to Diabetes Research.

· Grant to enable 16 children from Glasgow to have a holiday.

· Donation to the ‘Sunshine Appeal’.

· Trip to Wales Under 21’s v Italy Under 21’s at Swansea.

 

The main source of fundraising last year was a charity game held at Stebonheath. On May 9th 2010, another charity game will be held to raise funds for the Bala Orphanage in Kenya, a good cause wherever Llanelli play in Europe this summer and to generally replenish funds to help causes in Llanelli in 2010.

 

There will be a programme for this game and I would like to take the opportunity of asking you if you would like to take out an advert in this programme, which will greatly help make the game a resounding success.

 

Advertising prices are as follows :

 

£25 - quarter page

£50 - half page

£100 - full page plus a quarter page advert in a book we are bringing out later this year to celebrate the charitable achievements and the players who have played for Llanelli AFC over the years.

It was 2nd (us) v 3 rd (them).

We went 1 nil up, but couldn't finish them off

We got 6 games left, as we've had cancelled games because of the weather, waterlogged pitch, etc., but no extension to the league, so we've got to play, tues, thurs, sat, tues, thurs, sat!!!

 

At the mo', 2 games in hand, 6 points behind, so could come down to goal dif!!!

Six games in 12 days - yer havin a laugh, surely!!

There's quite a few English non-league teams ploughing through fixture lists like that just now (and for the last month) trying to clear up postponed games before the leagues finish at the end of this month. Comes in handy for the non-league gamblers among us because the crowded fixture list and the distances travelled in between games takes it's toll on players who are also trying to hold down a job. Especially if you can find out that a goalie or star striker can't get out of a shift and will miss the game.

Good luck with a crammed end of season. I used to play for Afan Lido many years ago, always a kicking match against Port Talbot who aint doing so bad at the moment. I see they've got Bangor City in the Welsh Cup Final on May 2nd. I know your fixture list is crammed, but think of poor Pontardawe Town in the division below. They've got to play, starting on Tuesday, on 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 22nd, 24th, 27th April then 1st, 5th, 8th, 10th, 17th and 20th May with one fixture to fit in somewhere!!, ..

After yesterdays games, Llanelli are 8 points behind leaders Tns, with 2 games in hand. Both games are home, playing on Tuesday and Thursday night. Still in with a slight chance of the league, but its such an ask???

Just to say, Llanelli Reds are still hanging in there!!!

 

We hang on in there last night and eventually managed to win 2-1.

 

Home tomorrow night to Rhyl, so all out for another 3 points. At the moment its :

 

TNS played 33 points 79

Reds played 32 points 74

So, after Thursday nights terrific win over Rhyl, Llanelli Reds are still in with a chance of winning the league today.

 

We are away to Prestatyn, while Tns are away to Aberystwyth. If Aber beat Tns and we win, then we are CHAMPIONS!!! A draw for Tns and a big win for us could still see us as Champions.

We beat Prestatyn 5-1, but Tns beat Aberystywth 3-1. That game was 0-0 at half time, so at that point, we were still in with a shout!!!
