hammy
Caught this bit from the BBC gossip section: 'Uganda international defender Simeon Masaba is set to spend a week on trial with Motherwell. (News of the World)' Anyone Got the News Of The World to shed light on the full story ? Thoughts on this anyhoo aswell ?
Brazilian
No.7Simeon Masaba DOB: 23/03/1983 (age 26) Height: 1.82 m (5 ft 11+1/2 in) Position: Defender Current club: SC Villa Former clubs: Police (2003 & 2007) No player in Ugandan football has been as consistent as Simeon Masaba for club and country. It's tough to find a reason why he still plays in Uganda while some of his peers have made money-spinning moves to bigger leagues. Masaba began his career at Police in the Uganda Super League, before moving to SC Villa in 2004. In 2006, he returned to Police before returning to Villa two years later. Renowned for his marauding runs from right back, it's easy to forget Masaba's impregnable defensive abilities. He made his Cranes' debut in 2002 and has been a regular face since then in the national set up, though powers are waning with each passing day. get the flag collection started edit: Oct 2009SC Villa have placed a Ush200m ($100,000) price tag on players Simeon Masaba and Hannington Kalyesubula. Rwandan side Atraco have shown interest in Villa’s two key players, but are willing to offer just Ush14m ($7,000). “That is very little money. We are talking of players with vast experience of playing for the national side and clubs in serious continental competitions,” Villa secretary Edward Luyimbazi Mugalu told The New Vision. Atraco chairman Ludovic Twahirwa is in Kampala seeking the players’ signatures.
Rickoza
Masaba A valuable summer signing from Villa, he is an attack minded right full back with hard tackles. Simeon and Villas Steven Nsereko are among the few players in the country who can play any where on the pitch. However, critics often attack him for his unnecessary touches and passing. LadywellToi
So what's the feeling on this? This guy being looked at to allow Hateley to move into midfield as he was before Christmas or because he's not staying?
happyslappy
good to see the club linked with an international player. If we can sell reynolds and bring on Hutchison for that positiion then why not use the money on this guy if he does well during the trial. Question though what happened to page? can he not play right back? If hately goes though would be looking for cover so maybe page could fill that role. Think euriope is key to keeping these guys such as hately etc.
Brazilian
Page is gaining experience playing on loan at Stirling Albion, more suited to the centre anyway

Finlay
Hope this isn't an early indication Hateley is away.
well_nuts
Might see Hateley pushing up in to midfield next season if they bring this guy in
Finlay
It's possible but I think he makes a pretty solid right back. Would be reluctant to move him if he continues playing the way he has been.
