I have to say that I dont agree with the criticism of players while they are wearing the claret and amber. I remember being in the East Stand last season, against Accies if I remember correctly, and as the teams come out onto the park at the start of the game one guy two rows in front of me wearing a Motherwell scarf stood up and shouted "You're shite Fitzpatrick"

That's the attitude I deplore, not even giving the guy a chance before barracking him. I get behind the team for 90 minutes regardless of how poor we are, once it's over I'll moan and groan with the best of them, but while there's a game in progress I'm a Motherwell fan and I'll get behind the team all the way.

Totally disagree, I know im generally positive... but a forum is a fine place for a grumble even if it is over something ridiculous and unfounded. That is what makes it interesting... a variety of views across the board.

Negativity shows we care and have pride for our club, sometimes it is justified and mostly it probably isn't.

I don't want to support a team that wins every game, is guaranteed a title, has all the money and all the best players and coasts through cup games. I want a team that experiences highs and lows in equal quantity - otherwise what would I have to talk about over my pint in the pub or on this forum!

By going to the games and giving the players your full support while you are there and spending money on the club you show ample support - a wee dig at a few aspects of the club/players/admin (whatever) on a forum, is a perfectly adequate place for it. It is also no doubt a useful tool for the club, they can see some of the more radical views without any offence having been caused.

Its our rollercoaster - we are entitled to moan if it makes us feel sick - we are entitled to give praise if it bring us elation.

I do agree though that while actually at the game our players could recieve more support in fir park (I havent noticed a problem at away games). Slagging a player if they are having a stinker is doing us no favours. Why some fans feel the need to address some of our lads directly while they are trying to do their job I will never understand, YOU ARE DISTRACTING THEM! LEAVE THEM TO IT!

Sing our songs and roar c'mon the well! But no one need to hear "fuck sake o'brien that was pish" or "move your arse forbes"

Used to love reading this forum every day but recently it has been 90% negativity towards the club and the players. Why don't people get behind Motherwell anymore when we are doing well in the league, it seems that most want to slag off the players , the pitch , the manager ( if he loses a couple of games), ffs we are nearly in Europe and there is nothing exciting to read on here anymore.

Personally i think all the negativity towards Motherwell is having an effect on the crowds and performances.

I have to agree with you.

Granted the pitch has to get slagged off. No excuses for that. And I think the pricing structure for games needs some constructive criticism and suggestions.

But Jim O'Brien has been getting slagged off. I personally think the guy works his socks off for Motherwell and is one of the few creative players on the park. Not everything he does comes off, but he is a good player.

Too many people that post on here have their glass half empty.

Motherwell are having a fantastic season thanks to some terrific performances and the brilliant introduction of Craig Brown and Archie Knox.

More positive threads please.
