Well_Jaggy
The pitch will be fantastic come the new season. Don't worry about it. <_>
Rickoza
As well as that, we will be installing a weather station here at Fir Park to give us the best possible chance of monitoring weather trends so we can react appropriately. Would love to see the daily data published, be interesting would that (well, to me anyway.....).

Lobey_Dosser
Is it the same groundsman as last year?
ONeils40yarder
aye, and the quotes are just like reading last years!!
dosser
We have been dealing with Andy Cole and Richard Windows on this project. Andy is the stadium expert for the likes of FIFA and will be going to the World Cup in that capacity. He also works closely with the Premier League in England the English FA so we really have the guys who are leaders in their field in to help us. a pitch like wembley? christ we will be replacing it every year then( sometimes a few times in the same season)
fizoxy
I'm sure the pitch will be in excellent condition for the start of next season, just like it was for the start of this season. How it will look January is a different story.

LadywellToi
Watched football focus a few weeks back where they went to Newcastle and spoke to the groundsman there. They had won awards despite the huge 3 tier stand going round half the pitch. He explained part of the reason the pitch didn't cut up was the use of macerated elastic bands among the topsoil. We're using what ..... fibersand. My mind keeps on going back to the camera behind the away dugout showing Hateley cartwheeling into the advertising hording back in February. Onthefringes
Head Groundsman Ian Wilson updated motherwellfc.co.uk on what has been going on, “We’ve added 400 tonnes of fibre reinforcement to the pitch that we hope holds together with greater stability next season". Hopefully not just added atop the existing surface “STRI will continue to work with us throughout the year, popping in to ensure everything is working well to give us the best possible chance.” Decent approach, reactive instead of proactive and at what cost? I await the findings with interest.
fizoxy
Hopefully not just added atop the existing surface They are mixing it with the topsoil using a big whisk if you will.

Smashing idea that will save JB loads of cash & he can even use the spare bands to wrap around the wads of cash he's gonna hand over to buy some quality players. Good pitch, good players watch oot mould firm here we come & all it takes is elastic bands.
coldonmac
With the way the ball bounces as it is, what will it be like if the ground is full of elastic bands!!

Casting mind back to first season with 'main' problem - Current incumbent took the decision to sprinkle the rubber crumb (destined for the pitch out the back no doubt) associated with artificial turf directly on to the exposed mud which was deemed the 'deep end' in front of the East Stand. Ball bounced that well, the pitch was closed for the month whilst this section was replaced.
Sup3rw3ll
if after all this extra work, hatley doesn't sign for another year. then he was full of sh1t. Cos' he said that the reason he was most doubtful was the pitch.
