Geedub
According to someone on P&B we're looking at Lee Hollis from Airdrie to replace John Ruddy It said today in the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser that Motherwell were looking at signing our keeper Lee Hollis. Lee is a good keeper although not the tallest but he's not too small either. He's hardly ever played the last few years so if he does go he may take some time getting used to SPL standard but I'm sure he'd be able cope eventually as he is genuinely a good keeper and, I would be disappointed to see him go (especially to you lot!) which I can't say about a lot of our squad. Andy_P
According to someone on P&B we're looking at Lee Hollis from Airdrie to replace John Ruddy 'Tiser says.... Meanwhile, transfer speculation has begun in earnest with keeper Lee Hollis reportedly a target for Motherwell and midfielder Scott McLaughlin interesting Partick Thistle. Brazilian
Nah I'm no having that, we'd need to list Lasley, Craggs and all the others that signed new deals or extension in the 'INs' if that were the rules how about INs OUTs & New Deals anyway abck on Topic, what ever happened to Daniel Spence who impressed on trial? and were a couple of Clyde boys not linked with us and a Jags player???? LadywellToi
Not going to have an IN's OUT's and KEEPER's list, we're not dealing with Panini cards or top trumps here.
sinky
We have so far been linked with keepers who play for teams who have been relegated from their respective divisions (Lee Hollis (airdrie) & Callum Reidford (clyde)). I went to the airdrie play off on Saturday and the guy behind me was talking about the keeper being linked with motherwell. First of all he's about the same height if not smaller than fraser, h'es a bombscare at croses and he always looks prone to spilling the ball. Its the first time i've seen him so maybe it wasn't a good day but still I think we should be aiming higher, maybe released championship players? Tartan_Special
Did anyone know how Cody arnoux and anton peterlin got on while on trial? I know arnoux played the Celtic reserves game but heard nothing else. EDIT: found a bit about him. "With a successful reserve season and an equaly successful trial at Motherwell under his belt, the striker weighed up his options. "Being that I only signed a year contract I'd love to achieve a longer deal from Everton but the team is so deep that I think I would be better off playing at a lower league club where I can make an impact," he concluded. Davie boy
Saw today that Pedro Moutinho has been released from Falkirk. Worth a punt? Anytime av seen him, hes looked fairly decent.
johnstone
Moutinho is a decent player. Worth a look anyway.
Bill Bones
Moutinho is a decent player. Worth a look anyway. If he was called Peter Morrison everyone would laugh at him. Average, at best. I mean, I'm not bothered if we sign him but not sure he's the answer.

Bill Bones
See how I have said worth a look - thats pretty much what I am saying. I'm agreeing with you. Half-decent but if he was British folk would be pointing and laughing at him. Still to many people impressed with foreign names. Moutinho's at the same level as guys like Imrie,Mackie and Milne but if folk suggested them people would laugh.
johnstone
I would take Imrie in a second. Has been brilliant for the Accies in the SPL. I do agree though. Stick a Sanchez or a Roberto into a ottballers name and they instantly go up a notch. Its understandable though. I mean its not like many good footballers come out of Scotland! Bill Bones
Haven't seen much of Imrie but he's been getting good write-ups. Is he available? Anyone have a list or even a few names of out of contract SPL players? I'm still praying we get Tuffey from Partick Thistle but I doubt it. More loans and guys from England I feel. Worked OK this season but the short-term approach(of course it's dictated by finance) grates a little, harder to relate to players when you know deep down they'll be off soon (not a critcism of this year's team, who been fuckin' great, for the most part.) More baseless speculation needed folks.

Lobey_Dosser
Would like to see us linked with Barry Bannan this summer. I imagine Villa will be looking to loan him out again this season. We may be a year too late though.
Sup3rw3ll
do you think we should put a bid in for barrowman in the ross county team. Seems to know how to score a goal or two. we must be able to offer better conditions ?

fizoxy
We wont be paying any transfer fees, so even if the player is with a lower league club we won't be signing them. Another useful rule of thumb is that if we know who the player is, MFC probably can't afford him.
TAM
Another useful rule of thumb is that if we know who the player is, MFC probably can't afford him. To me that sums up our transfer policy! No point suggesting or guessing as we will be way wide of the mark. At this time last year who would have suggested Ruddy, Coke, Jennings, Hatley or big Juke! David
This website is a decent little tool for seeing who is available for a free transfer this summer. It has most of the decent leagues in Europe, and some of the lower leagues too. Some of their valuations are a bit suspect though
