Yir Elder
According to reports this morning wee Jamie is a serious doubt for the Europa League ties after picking up the injury at Brechin last night. Craigie is quoted in the piece so it must be true. Â This is a real blow, and Brown himself said we are short of strikers. Perhaps this means we'll have to make a signing before the deadline on Friday. Â Bad news for Jamie though, hope its not too bad. Â (edit) amended title as its his ankle he injured! Wellarmy
Thats a big blow indeed, definately need someone in by Friday.
MelvinBragg
I would say a striker would be a definite requirement for before Friday if Murphy is unavailable for next week. Going with a strikeforce of Sutton and McHugh with only Gary Smith for back-up would leave us looking a bit sparse up front. The real problem is that you have to balance this with making the right signing and not signing someone just because we need them for the Breidablik games and they turn out to be a waste of a wage... MelvinBragg
Short term loan of a proven striker a possibility? Only issue there is we're at a point where clubs are shaping their squads for next season and might not know who they're willing to let go out on loan yet. Bear in mind also that we're starting our season early and therefore our pre-season training is ahead of everyone else's. The issue of match sharpness comes into play... milo
Just need to play Sutton upfront himself with 5 in midfield until we've sold Reynolds and got Jutkiewicz back then!
airfinz
I'd be quite happy to see us run with McHugh up front, with Smith/Lawless as back up on the bench. In order to progress, the kids need the opportunity to show what they got.

SPL is still more important and he will want to get the right striker for that.  Just need to play Sutton upfront himself with 5 in midfield until we've sold Reynolds and got Jutkiewicz back then!  Indeed. Or up front with McHugh......who has already scored in the Europa League.
Motherwell Football Club
There's also the option of playing Humphrey through the middle, Brown has already stated that this would be Humphrey's ideal position. Â However, I think that we'll play with McHugh and Sutton up top.

in brown's interview on the official he states that we can add an extra player within 24 hours of the first leg. so we wouldn't have to rush for a forward player as such

Burn_Broomfield
We don't want to get into debt, so we are S.K.I.N.T. However, teams like Falkirk, Kille, Hearts, Dundee, St Mirren and Aberdeen will be lucky to see another 2/3 years as professional clubs. Throw in McArthur getting MacDonald another 1.5 mil and they are in danger aswell when he fucks off with a profit. Scottish Fitba is well and truly snookered. No Fans, No substantial income, apathy that drives most loyal fans away. No decent players coming into the league unless they are homegrown. League of Wales standard here we come.....
