scoojy
According to The Sun, in an article about the 1911 census, the house Madonna now owns/lives in was owned, at that time, by none other than the Duke of Hamilton. I researched a little and it seems that Lord Hamilton and the Duke of Hamilton are the same person. So it appears that the chap who gave us the land to build Fir Park's house is now owned by Madonna. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/featu...icle2129383.ece I told you it was useless! daver
I could be wrong, but I thought it was Lord Dalziel rather than the Duke of Hamilton who owned the land.

scoojy
I wasn't sure so I checked the official site. 1895 saw two major developments at the club. The brought home their first professional silverware in the form of the Lanarkshire and the club moved for the final time. The tight muddy Dalziel Park was deemed unsuitable for League football, but Lord Hamilton solved the problem by granting a lease on a piece of land at the Northern end of his Dalziel Estate. The club took Fir Park as the name of their stadium.
