Mad Mac
Just been having a think about this - right now, we're on target for 46, and that assumes no progress in all cup competitions. Offhand, the most I can think of in a season is 48 in 1975-76 (36 league, 6 League Cup, 6 Scottish Cup). Any ideas as to the record for the club? Alex Spark
There was a period when there were 44 league games per season so would imagine m'well played at least 46 for a few seasons
brainier
Don't forget we also had four Anglo Scottish games in 75/6 taking that total to 52. Stuart Rennie played in every game. In 86/7, a 44 league game season, we played 52 games with four in each of the cups. Paul Smith and Fraser Wishart played in every game. We also played 52 games in 72/3 (34 + 10 League Cup, 2 Scottish and 6 Texaco) and that seems to be our maximum for a season.

steelboy
if we do end up playing 50+ games it'll hopefully mean that most of the young players on the fringes of things just now (hutchison, mchugh, page, meechan, pollock, smith, haslam) will get some decent playing time at some point. an ideal season would be europa league group stage, a scottish cup run and cowdenbeath west doing a gretna and taking the pressure off in the league. casey
Bump Saturday will be our 53rd competitive game this season.
Ya Bezzer!
Bump Saturday will be our 53rd competitive game this season. We will actually end the season playing 12 more matches than Hearts and St. Mirren who played 41 matches, the lowest in the SPL. We even played more than our cup final opponents Celtic, who, including the cup final will end up on 52.

One last big performance on Saturday please.
