WilliePettigrew
Did we have a sell on clause, looks like he's off to Leeds!
cambo97
We didn't sell him. He left under freedom of contract.
DC'd
We should still receive a "development fee" for him, likewise Rangers.

Richie
Unless a sell on fee was part of a compensation/development "agreement", then no. Also, I don't see why Rangers would get a fee as they released the player on a free (did they not?).
Wellfan1984
It goes on and on, all teams that he was at from the ages of 12-24 will get a percentage of any transfers paid before the third transfer. I think it is 0.5% for every year he was at the club or something

Because UEFA (and FIFA I think) say they do. It is there to protect smaller clubs that lose their youngsters for nothing or next to nothing. Rangers, despite releasing him still provided for him and helped his development. Hence their entitlement of a development fee.
jonnymfc
Dont think so. Leeds will be in the EPL in a few years, there slowly building momentum to be back in the top flight where they should be.
mwellhighland
We didn't sell him. He left under freedom of contract. According to this we got £110,000 for him http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/8939410.stm
Lobey_Dosser
Think us and Rangers got a few pennies thrown our way due to his age when he signed for Cardiff. All the best to him at Leeds. Should be a decent move for him. Would like to see him recapture the form he showed in his debut season at Cardiff.
