Rickoza
Agreed mate, that was the first thing I thought when I watched the highlights! The finish was world class - if that had been Berbatov or Rooney we'd have been hearing about how fantastic the technique was! The link you posted up on Facebook shows it best I think, superb finish. Hilarious build-up right enough with the heroes welcome for Skacel....fiished with a superb Motherwell goal.

I just thought he made it more awkward for himself by not just hitting it with his right foot... but maybe he's only allowed to score one goal a season with his right
radgenaldo
Ah, I was just a nipper when all you lot were scuffling round Gorgie way. Thought it would have something to do with fighting, just didn't know if it was the two football teams, or two teams of casuals. Cheers for filling me in, I shall now hate them for a good reason
steelman1991
This goes way back beyond the 'Casual' scene (Hearts didn't even have a firm) - This was to do with the 'Gorgie', possibly the fiercest set of fans (including the OF who only really mattered because of their numbers) ever!. The scene, inside the ground and outside the the civic after these early 1970's games resembled a war zone. Remember standing in the enclosure in the front of the stand in a Texaco Cup game, early 70's - think a certain Jim McCabe scored a hat-trick in a 4-2 win that night - and watched in awe as the battle raged in the shed. Cue the Police dog handlers - even they didn't go in - just let the dogs off the leash to do their stuff. I counted 48 arrested that evening as they were brought directly across the pitch and down the tunnel. Usually those arrested were paraded around the perimeter track, not that night, it was obviously the quickest way to get them out the ground and try and restore order. No in those days you didn't mess with the 'Gorgie'. FHW.
