the fox
Could anyone tell me if the Polish keepers can talk English or if there is plans for them to take classes? I know people say football is a world game but i feel in certain positions like no1 and centre half it is near enough essential for players to have a basic grasp of English. Gaag
what a strange question! I'm some of them speak english, and some of them don't! What made you ask the question given that we don't have any polish players in our team?
Robyn
You sure about that? Whos our no.19 then? Artur
weeyin
I think if you have lived in the country for a couple of years, you will speak decent English. A lot of Eastern Europeans learn English at school too (although it tends to be American English).
another number
I read somewhere that our two Polish keepers aren't allowed to speak Polish during training. So they must speak fairly good English

Stu
Sorry, but it's my job to correct those sort of mistakes. Can't help myself. As for the language barrier, there's only a certain amount of phrases and vocabulary that will be required, I'd have thought. Shouldn't be too much of a problem. that hat
But as footballers have they went and learnt fluent Murdo McLeod?
SuperCC
But as footballers have they went and learnt fluent Murdo McLeod? Sorry but the only other people on the planet that speak that language are Kenny Dagleish and Danny MCgrain. No one else has ever understood a word they speak......... TheLip69
But as footballers have they went and learnt fluent Murdo McLeod? Now that's not very fair, Murdo was alright until his head got in the way of a Dunga Free kick at the World Cup. He seemed to be alright at the time but within a few weeks it was obvious that the damage was worse than originally thought as he left Dortmund and signed for Hibs. SuperCC
And we have just signed Michael Fraser from Inverness, so there's another keeper that cant speak english!!
LankyMac
I've spoken with Boruc and he speaks as good English as any Polish person I have ever spoken with. He also has some Scottish slang sneaking in.
