Soapy Soutar
Here's my five. 1971 Texaco Cup semi-final Hearts 3-2 Motherwell (agg) (both legs) 1975 Scottish Cup semi-final replay Airdrieonians 1-0 Motherwell 1976 Scottish Cup semi-final Motherwell 2-3 Rangers 1984 Scottish Cup Quarter final Celtic 6-0 Motherwell 2005 League Cup Final Rangers 5-1 Motherwell Would'nt argue with them most of them painful. Can mind ma old man dragging me out at half time of the 1976 semi because he had seen it all before and knew what was coming, how right he was. weeyin
As painful as some of those are, the ones I'd really like to delete are games like losing 1 - 0 at home to Berwick Rangers (who took time-wasting to a new level), or 0 - 0 at Boghead on a wet and windy Wednesday evening. Although the Airdrie semi wasn't fun.
ankles
That 1976 semi has got to be the worst. The most biased refereeing ever witnessed on scottish soil. makes my blood fucking boil even to this day.Nothing but nothing will ever compare to that game. A fucking plague on the h**s and all their followers, especially the refs Derek Johnstone you are a fat diving c**t

phoenix
That adds up to 6 . Got to be the 76 semi for me, Was it Rennie in goals and Johnstone dive about 3 yards outside the box, only slight memory of it as I think was my first game at Hampden with my old man and I was 8. He died the night we lost 5 - 1 in 2005, still miss the old git every day.
joewarkfanclub
Never felt that way about a Motherwell game no matter how bad the result, however I will give you.... Czech Republic V Scotland 8th October 2010
Browni
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the away game to Mypa in 1995 when we got knocked out on the away goals rule. That was a long trek home. Unfortunately I've not made it to a European game since then

milo
Again, how can you pick just 5!!! These ones spring to mind right away, but there are certainly many! v Ayr Utd. 3-4, Scottish Cup 2000 v St Johnstone, 1-2, Scottish Cup 2000 v Dundee Utd, 4-5, SPL, 2005 v Aberdeen, 5-6, SPL, 1999 Saturday just there!!! nethertonwellfan
Only really the 7-1 pumping against Celtic at fir park for me. If it wasn't for Brattbakk that game could have been a whole lot worse!
milo
the 7-1 pumping against Celtic at fir park Ooft! Forgot about that one. Aye, that's in there.
Kris*Kaizer 2*Nunn
Just 2 games for me The Celtic game they won 7-1 live on Sky (Ged Brannan scored a great freekick) And the famous Aberdeen game 6-5 With a Robbie Winters hat-trick back in 1999 I wish i was never there! haha
Frazzie
What a brilliant question and, aye, very difficult to limit it to just five (Edit: So I haven't) 2-1 v Celtic at Hampden 5-4 v Dundee Utd 4-3 v Ayr 2-0 v St Johnstone (I still wake up screaming at the thought of that wee Simao c@nt) CIS Cup Final Losing on penalties to Alloa Losing on penalties to Forfar I have chosen to leave out all of the Malpas season as that whole period made my blood boil and couldn't specify one game - likewise the last couple of months of Gannons tenure. The Llanelli first leg was lucky not to make the list aswell.
weeyin
that o o game was on the tv later on at night aswell [was bad]I remember. And we were daft enough to watch it after we got back in from the match!
fatcalf
I quite enjoyed the Aberdeen 5-6 game, how can you not enjoy a game featuring 11 goals and you're on the edge of your seat for almost the full game? Likewise the Utd 4-5, these are the kinds of games you'd pay money to watch if you knew how things would pan out beforehand.
steelboy
4-5 vs dundee united was a great game. 5-6 versus aberdeen was a farce that would have shamed a public park. for me 5-6 aberdeen 1- 7 celtic 1-5 cis final 1 -2 st johnstone (scottish cup) 5 - 0 st johnstone (a) 4 - 1 pars (a) scottish cup 0 - 1 caley scottish cup (barry wilson) 3 - 4 ayr scottish cup (glynn hurst) 1 - 0 killie (a) the night dubordeau punched someone and gave away a pen after 85 of the worst minutes of football ever seen. it was about -5 and we never had a shot. 1 - 5 livi edited for 1-6 hibs and 1-4 ict. fuck you mapas! milo
The Dundee Utd 5-4 game was torture! We were 2-0, 3-1, and 4-2 up in that game. To throw a game away once is bad enough but 3 fucking times!!! Just awful. You've mentioned a few bad ones there Steelboy! It's all coming flooding back. Guest
Can only agree on the United 5-4 one, what a bleak day that was. League cup semi against Celtic at hampden, papped out by a backpass, motherwell fans fighting motherwell fans. St Mirren 3 - 0 Motherwell, Charlie Adam and Corcoran taking us to bit. St Johnstone cup game. Probably the Odense home game, although thats more of a rewind moment. We should've buried them.

CoF
I quite enjoyed the Aberdeen 5-6 game, how can you not enjoy a game featuring 11 goals and you're on the edge of your seat for almost the full game? I'm in the same boat. If we'd won that game it would probably have turned into one of those 'i was there' moments. I'll trade skill for drama and excitment any day. My submission is 1-0 defeat to Raith Rovers in Dec 1996. Hardly a significant game but memorable only because it was probably the single worst game of football I've ever seen. I don't think more than 2 passes were strung together all game, 0 shots on goal until the 90th minute when Raith scored and it was fuuuuuuuuuuuckin freeeeeeeeeeeeeezin.
