steelboy
any chance of giving an average attendance for that season?
Special aka
After 8 home PL games, (2 against the OF as mentioned above), it was 7,424.

fatcalf
so around 4000 for non old firm games which is what we get the now. And what we've always got, that's our core support, doesn't change much whether we're good, bad or indifferent.
Frazzie
Exactly. The only thing this post highlights is that live TV games and increased prices have stopped neutrals coming along to the games against the bigots. Don't think that's news to anyone. Yir Elder
Funny to see higher attendances at Fir Park for the visits of both bigots than those when we visited the weegie middens! So much for there loyal fans eh?!! Mind you that was typical of that era, I'm sure Rickoza will confirm he was at Shellic towards the end of 83/84 when less than 5000 watched us lose 4-2. Not that it in anyway defends the Old Firm for their home crowds against us but possibly worth remembering that Rangers at Fir Park was our opening league game of the season, with Celtic the next home game a week or two later. We also had them both early in the New Year at Fir Park when again attendances were traditionally that wee bit higher than the norm.
