Modernist
Club Statement Wednesday, 08 December 2010 Craig Brown and Archie Knox Motherwell Football Club today (Wednesday) released the following statement in relation to speculation surrounding Craig Brown and Archie Knox. Commenting, Chief Executive Leeann Dempster said, “Given the fantastic on-field success in 2010, it is not surprising that other clubs are taking an interest in our management team. “With that in mind, we can confirm that representatives from Aberdeen Football Club met, briefly, with both Craig Brown and Archie Knox yesterday afternoon. “However, both have decided to reject any approach and reiterated their commitment to Motherwell Football Club. We look forward to continued success under both men in the future.”
milo
Thank fuck. Was never in any doubt eh? I'm concerned they went to talk to them in the first place though. A polite but firm "fuck off" should have sufficed in my opinion.
Finlay
Didn't think they would go. Must have been their first choice. Wonder who else they will go for. Someone nit in a job I'd imagine.
weeyin
He'll still get a bigger salary at Aberdeen than he will here.By all accounts McGhee didn't.
Big Stall
Thank fuck. Was never in any doubt eh? I'm concerned they went to talk to them in the first place though. A polite but firm "fuck off" should have sufficed in my opinion. Whenever someone offers you a job, its always polite to listen. Even if you end up telling them where to go! Gaz
There's a copy of the offical statemen on the Aberdeen-mad site plus this wee opinion at the bottom: "Although AFC officials have been reported saying they want an experienced gaffer to replace McGhee, appointing septuagenarian Brown would have been a bizarre move for a club with loftier ambitions than merely escaping relegation and finishing mid-table. Brown would have no long-term future at AFC, will not be poached by a bigger club even if he does well, and will not win us the league, so AFC would have had nothing to gain from it at all. Hopefully the board will pursue an alternative route, preferably attempting to uncover the next big thing rather than 15 years ago's distinctly mediocre scraps." Spat tea all over my laptop when I read that bit in bold!

Fi2810
[and will not win us the league OMG these eejits are even more delusional than I thought if they think anyone could win them the league. Maybe the first division next season but certainly not the SPL, even if they had got Craig Brown

Ian-in-Oz
Oh well when they appoint Stark & Joe Miller as his assitant they can be confident that dynamic duo will win them the league. Wonder why nobody else thought to appoint those two when they aleady have the league in the bag? IMO they would be better off with Windy Miller than Joe Miller but each to their own. Just had a look at the sheepy site & they delusional twats think Broons snub just means he's going there in the summer instead of now When are the sheep gonna wake up & realise they are NOT a big club anymore & it's NOT a shock when people turn them down.
