steelboy
is it still the case that the flag on the main stand only flies on match days? i've got vague memories of being a very young well fan and my grandpa saying games were off because the flag wasn't flying but that might not be right. is there/was there a tradition around the flag? Kmcalpin
Don't know about now but it used to be the definitive way of knowing if a game was on or not.

I believe that this is correct. I also remember that it used to be taken down aabout 10-15 minutes before the end of a game so you knew how long there was to go then. First time I saw this I think it was big Peter McCloy's brother that used to take it down.
