weeyin
I always thought he was solid, but nothing more. Over the past few years I would place Porter, Clarkson, Murphy and Jutkiewicz ahead of him.
David
Did I hear correctly on Clyde One that there was a possibility that he could be on his way back here in January?

David
I'm sure I heard one of the pundits on the show late last week mention the idea of him coming back, but I've heard nothing anywhere else. I'd have him back. He's a good player, as he proved for us last season.
superwell87
Not heard anything about it, but i would like to see Sutton back in Claret and Amber. However wages could be a problem though.
Lobey_Dosser
McCall says we couldn't afford him back as his wages have been taken up by Higdon.
David
Regardless of him coming back to us, I don't see him lasting long at Hearts.
liquid_football
Yeah, Brown didn't seem to rate Sutton very highly, played Gow ahead of him when he could. Even when he played Sutton it was often as a midfielder! Sutton's father in law was in at my work a few months back and we got talking, turns out that Archie Knox hated the ground Sutton walked on, which is why Brown didn't play him as often as he should. Sutton was doing an evening course up at Glasgow Uni when they took over, to give himself a little insurance for when he retires from football, and Knox told him he couldn't do both and be committed to the team. When Sutton refused, Knox went ballistic apparently, threatened to tear up his contract...

Ian-in-Oz
McCall told him before he left that the grass isn't always greener on the other side but he left anyway. So i wouldn't have him back now that he has found out the grass on the other side was a shitty brown colour.
daver
He not studying Chemistry or something? He was trying to transfer his course from Glasgow Uni. through to an Edinburgh one so obviously Jeffries didn't have a problem with it. Maybe Sergio does? Joeboy
As mentioned before I would rate Jutkiewicz, Clarkson and Porter above Sutton and I wasn't too gutted when he left. Had purple patches but could never find consistency. Can't see any teams who could manage to meet his wages but I wonder if he'd be willing to do a Bobo Balde and sit out his contract in the stands. David
Do you not think he'd be able to pick up similar wages to what Hearts are paying him if he moved to the lower leagues in England?
fatcalf
Do you not think he'd be able to pick up similar wages to what Hearts are paying him if he moved to the lower leagues in England? Easily but as said earlier he didn't want to move his family down Souf. Could commute to Carlisle or Hartlepool though.
Andy_P
If he did consider a return south I'm sure someone would take a punt on him, but his record down there with a couple of teams has hardly been startling. He certainly doesn't have the same standing there as he has in Scotland.

Carlisle were one of the teams who made him an offer but he opted for Hearts. Might be any port in a storm now though. However I don't see Sergio lasting 3 years so he could try and stick it out. I think people think he is on alot more than he actually is. Most of the Football League Clubs wouldn't bat an eyelid on what he is been paid. Dazzer
I reckon he would be on around 2 grand ish per week, @ a guess, and to be honest he is not a great player and would not want him back here anyway, played well at times, but overall average player that came good at the right time and got his big move. Joeboy
Highly doubt he'd have left us for £2k a week, if we offered him less it wouldn't have been much less. My guess is about 5k a week.
Dazzer
Really 5K a week, thats an amazing wage if its right! But i suppose if you compare with Lower league English football, prob compare to Top L1 teams and below. Championship big hitters would laugh at that wage i reckon, so maybe your right. But still a massive wage for what he actually does.

Wellfan1984
According to his Agency he is on Basic £2.7K with Bonuses raising it to a possible £5K (think it is this thread I posted it in before).
