What about Wales, Northern Ireland or at a push the Republic?

Still not a chance really. Its my induction period at my new work so I can't take any time off I don't think.

Say what ye want about Wikipedia, but it's quality when it comes to the currently runners-up in the World Cup qualifying and who we'll get in the Europa League first qualifying round...

UEFA_Europa_League_2009%E2%80%9310#First_qualifying_round

Assuming that is an accurate list, I think my preferred opponent would be Lisburn Distillery. A wee Northern Irish team for a wee jaunt across on the ferry would be good, but I'd prefer to avoid Linfield. Or a wee drive down to Wales would be nice. With Oslo and the World Cup playoffs (keep the faith!) coming up I can't afford either the holidays or the money for jaunts back to the Faroes or Macedonia, so from a purely personal point of view I'll be keeping the fingers crossed we get the Welsh or Northern Irish mobs.

This is obviously assuming we actually get into Europe!

Nah, surely one of these two would be magic:

A wee jaunt to Luxembourg , 99p RyanScare to Frankfurt and you are practically there, Mainland Europe so not dodgy, sunny weather etc..

And in the next round, just for the name so we can all say 'Let's go and get pished and watch 22px-Flag_of_Moldova.svg.png Dinamo Bender !!

Differdange is at the moment the second in the Luxemburg league but they are still in the half final of the luxemburg Cup. So at the moment Jeunesse esch take the 3rd place

We stopped in Luxembourg on our travels between Charleroi and Nancy but it was only in service stations so can't say much other than it's very easy to get to and the service stations devoted a lot of space to merchandise for keeping the lonely lorry driver amused at night!

went for a magical mystery tour in Luxembourg city on way to Frankfurt Hahn after Nancy game when the motorway was closed, and I must say, the Ladies of the night are something else! not that we stopped, but not bad to look at when going round in circles lost at 2 in the morning

here,s hoping on sat. the team behave on the pitch & the fans behave by not going on the pitch as fans behaviour counts towards the fair play & it would be a pity if the team do all the right things & the fans (if they invade the pitch) let us down at the final hurdle. cheer the team on sat on the right side of the pitch all you well fans, & maybe europe here we go again :wallbash:

The Mighty Well, seeded for European competition - brilliant!

Sadly T In The Park, which I've already spent over £200 on, starts on the 10th, with the second leg being on the 9th. So, from a selfish point of view, I'm hoping for an away tie first against whoever tbh, although Wales or one of the Irelands would be good. :wallbash:

a wee bit of history if / when we make it into the Europa League next season. We will be the only Scottish club to play in the final Uefa Cup and the first Europa League. Turns out there is a whole new trophy.

Not exactly a massive achivement but hey it is something

has that been confirmed by the SFL? I remember reading somewhere else that the other option was a preliminary round with 4 or 6 teams so that the SPL teams would all enter at the usual times.

Now confirmed....

BBC

SPL trio face early start in cup

By John Barnes 999999.gif

Three Scottish Premier League clubs will have to start next season's domestic campaign two weeks ahead of the rest of the 12 teams. They will be competing in the Co-operative Insurance Cup at the first-round stage, which begins on 1 August.

It is a knock-on effect from Scotland winning six places in European competition next season.

Qualifying clubs are exempt from the competition until the third round to assist their European challenge.

Normally, SPL clubs, who are not involved in Europe, begin their League Cup campaign at the second-round stage.

The 32 lowest clubs in Scottish football will participate in the first round of the League Cup.

o.gifIt just means we'll have a competitive game a fortnight earlier than expected

Hamilton Accies secretary Scott StruthersNewly-promoted St Johnstone will be one of the three SPL teams involved.

The two lowest-placed teams - between Hamilton Accies, St Mirren and Inverness Caledonian Thistle - after this weekend's final round of league fixtures will be the others.

Falkirk, who are currently bottom of the SPL, are excluded as they will be involved in Europe because of their place in the Scottish Cup final.

The Scottish Football League on Wednesday notified the SPL clubs that they could be back in competitive action earlier than expected.

Hamilton, who could be affected if they finish second or third bottom of the SPL, said they are comfortable with the situation.

Accies secretary Scott Struthers told BBC Scotland: "If that's the case, we'll just have to live with it.

"It just means we'll have a competitive game a fortnight earlier than expected."

Sure you guys know this but for those that don't, the draw for the 1st and 2nd round takes place on June 22nd - A full ten days before the first game... If we get into Europe then ten days isn't a whole lot of time to organise a potential trip to Kazakhstan / Faroe's / Armenia etc :O

Anyway, the Club are currently debating the best way to cope with fans demands for tickets/travel (particularly at short notice) at the moment to try and avoid the farce we seen last year (if we do indeed get in that is)....
