Rickoza
Don't think anyone knows for sure. UEFA aint quite like the SPL and release stuff before due dates as it were. I remember a few years ago discovering the fixtures for the new season the night before they were due to be released on the SPL's website, can't recall UEFA doing similar blunders (they only do them live!)... Tweed
Bear in mind though that it's not just the card count that is used to determine the UEFA fair play place. Theres loads of other disciplinary things that are taken into consideration. Respect towards referees and opponents, positive play, fouls, crowd behavior and behaviour of club officials are all taken into account. What is positive play? Rickoza
Pretty sure they mean attacking football. Which rules out the Old Firm in Europe, and Chelsea for that matter!! Think, despite things, we've on the whole tried to play positive football. Saint Mirren, on the other hand, are experts and playing anything but. DC'd
Respect towards referees and opponents, positive play, fouls, crowd behavior and behaviour of club officials are all taken into account. Well due to Scotland and their dismal showing in this years competitions, at least it's been unable to affect our placing. So, we compare this to fellow similar nations like Poland, Romania, Serbia & Co, they as well have had no other representatives late on in both European Competitions. So, all are unable to climb above us into the top 3. Whereas all the bigger nations have done themselves no favours.. England - Fletcher's red card, Chelsea's negative play going against the "positive play" that UEFA set out. The indiscipline from Drogba + Ballack. Spain - Abidal sent off, as was Godin for Villarreal at the Emirates in Quater Finals. Italy - Juventus were down to 10men in there game against Chelsea in Turin. So, the major nations harming their chances and the lesser footballing nations not getting teams to the latter stages, apart from perhaps the Ukraine. Combined with the fact the National team picked up zero bookings in the Amsterdam Arena. Looking good anyway..
SteelEdge
Pretty sure they mean attacking football. Which rules out the Old Firm in Europe, and Chelsea for that matter!! Fuck it. Just give the place to Falkirk!!! They like to play an attacking game. They play the game in the right manner. They like to get the ball down and play. They like to pass the ball. The like to make pretty passing patterns on the pitch. Actually... maybe I shouldn't be taking the piss after Saturday.

Rickoza
Can't be. Norway lead in January and their pitches were covered in snow...........
brazilmfc
So when is the draw made tomoz ????
Rickoza
As I understand it, they release the final table and the top three countries simply get an extra place for them to distribute. Just then depends on where we've finished in our own competition. Should be tomorrow.....

Rickoza
It's surely gotta be as it was when UEFA decided. Their rule is table as it stands end of April, which would mean us. You can imagine if it's tight and the good old SPL decide it's as it stands at the end of the season (and between us and Saint Mirren), guess who'll be at the wind up on Saturday. Another Man City on the cards?!?! The BBC have made an arse of the report - the early rounds are July, not June....
DC'd
A rendition of "We're All Going On a European Tour" will be welcome at New Love Street, great way to get it right up the bitter Buddie bastards, as "The Cheats" as they like to refer to us qualify for Europe for a 2nd season running (albeit through the backdoor). Another Man City on the cards?!?! Aye, but they are fighting for their life on Sat and the remaining 3 games afterwards. They can't afford to be stepping out of challenges and 50/50s. Pressure of relegation makes players do silly things. We on the other hand can just do a Man City and help up losing 8-1 by not being committed. Not that I think we should do it, least that is an option to us that isn't available to St Midden.
el-pidge
Yeah ide still like to be sure its mathematically impossible to get relegated... and ide prefer to finish above hamilton... before we walk the rest of our games.
weeyin
How funny would it be, though, if Aberdeen and Hibs miss out after making the top 6 and we sneak in after losing out on the split? (Quite funny - that's how funny it would be).
Rickoza
It'd be magic to sing at the last game of the season "we're all going on another European Tour" just a few short weeks after everyone was more or less convinced the season was a total failure. This would put a nice shine on what has been a bit of a downer.
Rickoza
If the BBC are to be believed, then as Hibs are our nearest challengers they received 3 bookings tonight. Match that (or less) on Saturday and also whatever Saint Mirren get and we've lost no ground.
jo.mcr
Not 100% sure on this, but according to this table as of the 4th May Inverness were our biggest challengers. Scottish Fair Play League Edit: obviously i cant read, table says st mirren are our closest threats

steelboy
flow mentioned earlier that it's down to more factors than disciplinary points. one of the things he metioned was the conduct of the crowd. the only thing that jumps to mind this season has been our picking on mccarthy so hopefully we haven't been wrote up up for that. if we miss out on europe because of that we'd have to up the ante with him even more next season
scott_mfc
Surely our excellent behaviour in Nancy (baring one or two eijits) should go in our favour.
