prideoflanarkshire
Sorry for going over old ground as am sure there are many threads about Super scoreboard. Did anyone hear Hugh Keevin's last night? He stated that Dundee U should not be fined or punished in anyway due to the failures in their park. This enraged me so I called in to have my say, and in fairness they put me on. All I wanted to say was, does he think it’s correct that we tried hard on our pitch, by spending £400k and getting specialist involved, bur still received a suspended fine and all the reports from the press. However this season Dundee U and St. Johnston have had more call offs than us and all we hear is “extreme weather conditions” the exact conditions that affected us. I also stated I don’t think anyone should be fined and he went on about everyone trying to blame everyone else, which was not my point. Then I was cut off with Jim saying “we seem to have lost the caller” I don’t have the audio from last night, but believe you can listen on the iTunes pod cast about 55mins in Was I wrong? Kris*Kaizer 2*Nunn
I tend to agree, Tam cowan said that to Stuart Cosgrove on off the ball and he even said his team should be punished, Im not into the whole "suspended fine" and things i mean look at Wigans pitch!. But the fact St J and Dundee utd are not getting and abuse about this and we got everything is not fair! i still get folk telling me we should have been kicked out the league
Lobey_Dosser
Flicked onto Clyde for 5 minutes and happened to catch the call. To be honest, while I appreciate where you are coming from I don't think you got your point across well. DOn't waste your time trying to get a rational debate out of Keevins. johnstone
To be honest though our pitch was a total disgrace and it was not all down to the weather.
Al Pacino
I wouldn't waste my time or breath on Keevins.
Pettywulliegrew-2
One of the main reasons we got it so tight, was a Sky Smeltic game was called off at the 'Arc. Cant have that can we !
pretzel
Main thing is we haven't had any postponements due to our pitch this season. It has looked a bit suspect lately yes, but that was too be expected I gather due to another keech winter. I tend to agree with the other posters in just ignore that clown keevins, if we do have a match called off before the season is out you just know he will be slevering about how we should be taken to school again and such. It is frustrating as St Johnstone and Dufc have had numirous call offs in recent weeks and its just brushed to the side.

Richie
I heard it and Keevins just wasn't having any of it. He failed to see the double standards. Am I not right in saying there was only one postponement last season at Fir Park and that was due to flooding/frozen pipes? Fair do's the pitch was a mess but the referees were deeming it playable. Well Up For It!
Hugh Keevins is a fucking bawbag. That is all!
prideoflanarkshire
I heard it and Keevins just wasn't having any of it. He failed to see the double standards. The thing was, I wasnt on having a go, just wanted him to explain why he had a go at us and not having a go at Dundee or St J? and he kept going on about adverse weather!!! the same as the whole country. If you look in the sun today, they have a picture or dundee's park on sunday (v celtic) and a pic of last night (v hamilton) and both pictures are the same.... difference.... against celtic and sky
Andy_P
The two things are seperate for me. I agree with the point the OP is making. To be honest I don't wish any fines issued, suspended or threatened or any SPL investigation instigated the way we had but there is a very marked difference in the stance that was taken with us in comparison to the likes of United, St Johnstone and Accies by the authorities and media alike. I don't think it unreasonable if anyone involved with Motherwell should query the reasons why our fellow SPL competitors appear to be getting almost sympathy whilst we were receiving calls to be chucked out the league, points deductions and play all games away from home. When Boyle talked of the Lanarkshire micro-climate that was hindering us even when remedial work was going on, people pished themselves laughing and mocked him. Last night we had Peter Houston and Steven Thomson talk of the unusually high rainfall that had hit Dundee but it was all sympathy. They even commented on a corner of the ground that "has always been a bad bit" and nobody thought to question if the knew it was bad then what had they done to remedy it. That said there are a hundred and one different avenues I'd use to get my point across rather than one where Hugh Keevins has any involvement. Brazilian
its rank, same as the other show, I commute at 6pm and can usually only hack about ten minutes at max of either show before I'm searching for some tunes. think most fans would agree with the op's point, very difficult to get it over on their media however as you discovered if you listen to it, they do cover games live from the stadium. is it not the case that , they have people at the stadium which report in to the studio at key moments and halftime fulltime etc as opposed to live coverage of any particular game which they are not licenced for kinda like open all mics, but without the depth of coverage and a slight delay in penalty broadcast etc
kennyb1979
Last I checked Dundee's ground it pretty local to Utd's - how many games have they had called off this season due to the unusually high rainfall?

Finlay
Said it before, I have no idea why any Scottish football fan at 6pm listens to anything that isn't Radio Scotland. Even Traynor/Young at their worst are miles ahead of anything Clyde or Real Radio offer.

Agreed. Sportsound is a far better programme than the pish Radio Clyde serves up. Including the programmes that follow the main show, such as Beyond the SPL and Paper Talk.
